Hi friends, this is my first time of joining #SeasaonHunt challenge by @barbara-orenya.
It's quite challenging to enter into this week's contest because the topic is strange to the seasonal transition in Nigeria. It only took some level of courage to venture into this contest. My post on this contest might not be as sophisticated as others who experience the fall season every year of their life. Let me give a trail hoping to my best which might even be enough. Greetings from @salvadornkpara
The Nigerian Version of Autumn or Fall
Since the fall or autumn season cones during the transition period from summer to winter in the Northern Hemisphere and in March in the Southern Hemisphere,Source we in the tropical rainforest usually experience our own version of fall during the harmattan and dry season. In Nigeria as well as other tropics leafs during the harmattan period are not colorful like in the Northern Hemisphere. One other features of the autumn which is the decrease in day length and increase in night length. In Nigeria, this occurrence is usually known as longer night and shorter day. Most persons during this period over sleep and at some point go to work late.
In the Nigerian version of fall, we don't have a colorful road and streets filled fallen leafs, but the temperature is a bit cooler and dry. Probably our own version of autumn is the harmattan season. We're unique in our own ways and our seasons are unique, which helps us differentiate between the planting and harvesting seasons.
