In the 16th and 17th centuries and some parts of the 19th century, nations used bacteriological or biological weapons to fight any nation that poses threat to its national interest. Biological weapons can be directed against crops and livestock, in addition to humans. Category A agents of biological weapons include the following:
- anthrax
- botulism
- plague
- tularemia
- smallpox
- viral hemorrhagic fevers

As the advancement of scientific discoveries in medicine, the above diseases that were used as weapon cures were discovered for them reducing their potencies of mass destruction. The advancement in the development of nuclear weapons, relegated the use of these biological weapons. It seems that people have forgotten the politics of armament and disarmament so quickly and nations in their quest to achieve their national interest could do anything to survive including the destruction of lives and properties. In today's post I'll be looking at covid-19 pandemic as a bacteriological or biological weapon used to frustrate and return some nations to economic depression or frustrate their stand in international politics. Greetings from @salvadornkpara.
According to World Health Organization (WHO) statistics over 5 million lives have been lost since the inception of the covid-19 pandemic in China. This is a clear indication that the pandemic was targeted to either reducing the worlds population or towards fighting a particular nation but couldn't ascertain the spread of the virus. At several occasions some persons have said that the virus is airborne while others said it's not.
Whether airborne or not the lives of innocent people have been claimed by the covid-19 virus.
The Covid-19 Pandemic and Economic Depression
The covid-19 pandemic brought several hardship scenerios that also took the lives of innocence citizens of nations. It should be noted that not all persons that are assumed to have die as a result of the covid-19 virus, some die due to hunger and starvation and were recorded as covid-19 related death. For instance, during the last years lockdown, one of my friends who wanted to bury his mother was asked by a government official to sign that his mother died of covid-19 pandemic before arrival to bury his mother will be given. Most families and bread winners lost their jobs due to the covid-19 pandemic. For instance, most private school teachers lost their source of income in Nigeria after the 23rd March 2020 ultimatum of the federal government of Nigeria asked all schools to be closed till further notice. The further notice was already after 7 months of closure. Most these teachers barely earned up to $50 per month. For good 7 months of hardship, although most of them resorted to petty trading ventures that helped them to survive the lockdown period. Several nations ran into debt for months and couldn't pay salaries of workers.
While some were suffering others were piling up wealth for themselves through stacking palliatives that were meant for the poor citizens who were dieing during the pandemic.
Another sector that suffered during the covid-19 pandemic lockdown was the football and other sports sectors. Most football association all over the world suffered serious setbacks due to the refusal of fans into the stadiums to watch games. Most of these football associations made revenues from tickets and other means best known to them. Revenues from these source was cut off.
The Politics of the Covid-19 Vaccine
The research in developing a vaccine that'll fight against the covid-19 virus was so serious by the WHO. It amuses me to notice that people could die after taking the vaccine. Should I say that it's a marketing strategy for a medical firm in Europe and the Americas to sell their products or they're had intention to cure the various. If this is not politics why are people still dieing to covid-19 related illness. The refusal of herbal concussions produced in Africa that can combat the pandemic is also a concern to me. If it could cure the pandemic then why is it not used. Politics playing all the way.
Omicron Variant
We're still talking about the Covid-19 vaccine that most national government are forcefully giving to their citizens against their will which is an abbreviation of their rights as enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights signed in 1948. Should the vaccine be administered forcefully, my friend @ura-soul will say that all force is rape. Today, we're faced with another covid-19 variant called Omicron in some countries of the world. Are we expecting another lockdown series again or will the World Health Organization (WHO) deal with the new variant quickly so we can have our normal life back. What's the essence of the Covid-19 vaccine when the pandemic is increasing and even killing some people on a daily basis. This is very serious and a call for scientists to find a lasting solution to this pandemic.
The discovery of the Omicron Variant of the covid-19 pandemic in South Africa has brought more fear to the world than the previous variants of the covid-19 pandemic. And I sense something fishy in the way the world is taking the disease. Last week I heard in the local news on radio that the United Kingdom has ban Nigerians from traveling into their country. Two weeks ago Canada ban Nigerians into their country when Nigeria had just 3 cases, while allowing people from Europe to fly into their country. Comparing the number of cases between Nigeria and other European nations. Nigeria has just about 20 cases while countries in Europe has over 400 cases, is this not international politics.
I'll conclude by saying that international politics will not end if we expect competition and the pursuit of national interest in the global arena. There are solutions around us but because of the high level of politics involved, the world body will not recognize them. Until we want the covid-19 pandemic to end it'll not and until we stop seeing human lives as nothing we'll not move forward.
