VW Caddy 2.0TDi - Diesel Filter replacement
Yesterday, I posted about the air filter replacement on a VW Caddy 2.0 TDi, today I am posting on the Diesel Filter replacement.
You will find the diesel filter on the left front of the car, when you stand in front of it. The diesel filter is fastened with 6 x torque type screws. In the photo above I have already removed 5, with the one still remaining.
The filter lid is quite tight fitting, and needs to be pried loose after removing the six screws. In the video you will clearly see where this needs to be done.
The new filter comes with a new O-Ring type seal that must also be replaced, to prevent diesel leaks.
The Diesel Filter replacement, is also a very easy job that can easily be done at home, if you have the correct tools, in this case you need a Torque Type screw driver, which can be bought at most hardware or car part shops.
By doing this type of job yourself you can save a lot of money. In my case VW charges around R3000.00 for a minor service, where the parts costs around R900.00. (Oil, Oil Filter, Diesel Filter and Air Filter)
I plan to share the oil filter replacement soon, but unfortunately, the video and photos are not of good quality.
I hope you liked the post as much as I liked writing it.
I hope you have a wonderful day!!
