Cooking for your loved ones is a special way to show your care and affection. As I was preparing for a one-week visit to my hometown, I decided to cook a special meal for my husband that he could enjoy while I was away. I chose a classic Bangladeshi-style beef recipe that's flavorful and hearty. Here's a step-by-step guide to creating this mouthwatering dish.

Let's a have look at the recipe.

Ingredients:

For this beef recipe, you'll need the following ingredients:

  • 1 kg of beef
  • 2 large onions (finely chopped)
  • 2-3 green chilies (sliced)
  • 1 tablespoon ginger paste
  • 1 tablespoon garlic paste
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Cooking oil

Step 1: Marinating the Beef

Start by marinating the beef with yogurt, ginger paste, garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, and coriander powder. Mix well and let it sit for about 30 minutes. This step ensures the meat absorbs all the flavors.

Step 2: Cooking the Beef

Heat a pan and add some cooking oil.
Once the oil is hot, add the chopped onions and green chilies. Sauté until the onions turn golden brown.
Add the marinated beef and cook on medium heat. Stir occasionally to ensure even cooking.

Step 3: Reducing the Gravy

After the beef is tender, lower the heat.
Cook on low heat until the gravy thickens and coats the meat evenly.

Step 4: Garnish and Serve

Once the beef reaches your desired consistency, garnish it with fresh coriander leaves. (if you like the taste of coriander, I skipped it).
Serve hot with steamed rice or roti (flatbread).

Cooking this Bangladeshi-style beef dish was a labor of love for my husband. The blend of aromatic spices and tender beef creates a delightful and flavorful meal.

As I packed the dish for him, I knew he would enjoy a taste of home while I was away. Cooking for loved ones is a special way to create lasting memories and share the warmth of your presence, even when you're physically apart.

I'd love to hear about your preferred beef cooking method and your thoughts on my recipe.

Have a good day.

Happy cooking!

I'm sure I will.

This looks delicious, and easy to make. I'm curious if you can add carrots and potatoes as well to have some vegetables?

We usually only add potatoes occasionally unlike many Asian and African dishes. But I tried that version too that's delicious.

Looks appetizing!

Thanks :)

This food looks very interesting and we who are Muslims also eat beef very fondly, so I will try to make this food at home and then eat it how it is made.

Agree, thanks.
