Happy New Year everyone! Hello to a new start and my first post for the year 2022. Desserts can't be resist anyways. Whether any occasions are present it just to be the last food were gonna try either. Though most desserts foods are typicaly sweet it is loved by everyone.
While thinking about desserts that I needed to prepare for our New Year's eve celebration, what I only have on hand was a Fruit Cocktail. First thing come into my mind was to do a fruit salad but it is kinda boring and wanted to use it for a graham float instead. Sadly, I haven't been bought any graham ahead of time and now it is not available on a nearby store. But still thankful that I think quick for this Marie biscuits.
I used a total of 14 pcs small pack marie biscuits but it is better to have more but for immediate recipe like this it is good tho.
Ingredients & Things Needed
Fruits (I prefer to use a fruit cocktail in can and drain)
Marie Biscuits
Melted butter/margarine
All purpose cream (chilled overnight)
1 small can of condensed milk
Any bowl or vessel transparent (I used a microwaveable tub)
electric mixer
Easy Step and Tips:
Step #1:
Crushed marie biscuits or use a blender/food processor. Melt a butter/margarine in pan. On a bowl combine and stir using spoon. Add some drops of fruit cocktail juice if it's look dry. Just around 2-3 tbsp was good then set aside.
Step 2:
Unpack chilled APC (all purpose cream) pour in a bowl and start beat in low setting and eventually adjust the speed in high after pouring condensed milk little by little. Beat till stiff peaks form.
Step 3:
Arrange the cream on your chosen vessel. Layer some crushed marie biscuits as first layer follow by 3 full tbsp of the cream as the second layer. Add some fruits on top and layer in with crushed marie biscuits. Add another layer of cream and finally top it with fruits generously.
Here is the final look of my fruity marie float. I will tell you that Marie biscuit taste better than graham. Well that's only for me but my taste buds didn't lie to me ever lol :)
Aside from that, I saved around 50 pesos or around $1 using marie biscuits. It is more beyond cheaper compared to graham. This is a good switch if graham wasn't available but I think this will not be my second option instead it will be my priority ingredients now.
Tip #1:
It is a must to chill your All Purpose Cream overnight or even 2 days ahead of time. The key to have a fluffy and get a doubled amount of your all purpose cream was based on the coldness of the cream. Aside from that it is better to chill also your condensed milk. I tell you it will make a huge difference.
Tip #2:
Might use a blender or a food processor to achieve a more fine biscuits. What I used was my hand pressing them and break into smaller pieces and put inside of my non electric vegetable cutter. That's why you may notice that it has an obvious crumbs but that will not affect the actual taste, I swear!
Tip #3:
Don't over beat the cream. Until you see and reach the stiff peak, it okay... and lastly for best result chilled it overnight.
