How we handle a Sari-sari Store

in #hive-1884092 years ago

A sari-sari store is popular in the Philippines. Every small village has this kind of store. This is a very helpful store because it's like a one-stop shop for the basic and daily needs of the people. Whether it's a big one or a small one, it can still be called a sari-sari store because it sells different goods. For example, coffee, food, drinks, and many more. Well, for those not familiar with this sari-sari you can compare it as a convenience store.

A year ago, I built my own store thanks to hive but it's just not about it right now. This post will be about the #marketfriday tag so I'll be sharing with you how we do things in a sari-sari store. I'm going to tell you that we bought our products from bigger stores at a low price and then sold them with a higher price but only added cents or pesos. Well, if you're going to sell it at an expensive price the community can not afford. Considering the life status of most households in a community.

When you buy a product you should buy it in a group or let's say a bundle. If you own a store you should buy products that are wholesale. Let me explain it more for it to be understood.

Example:

If 1 coffee is bought it costs 15 pesos. However, if you bought it in a single tie or numbers just like 10 or 12 you can buy it lower. The 15 pesos amount will be lessened because the price of a single tie containing 10 pcs of coffee is just 120 pesos. So when buying it in a tie you only bought the coffee with 12 something. That's why you can have profits for a small amount but when it's a bigger quantity it just means you'll make a bigger profit.

That's how we get the products we are selling. But there are products that you can not buy at a lesser price. If a product is like that, we only just add cents or pesos from its original price. That's how we make a profit when we can not buy products or goods at a wholesale price.

There are some products as well that we bought in a bigger quantity. Just for example, sugar, salt, oil, and soy sauce. We bought in sacks and containers so we will be the ones to measure in selling it. We measure ¼ kg of salt and sugar for a lower price so people can afford it.

These are just the basics on how to handle stores but in growing it's a matter of strategy and effort.

Opo, tuturoan ka talaga atsaka hindi lang yan, pati sa buhay-buhay ng isang tao at sa klase nila. thanks

We also have a small sari-sari store and I can say that handling it is not an easy task. 🤣 Even though it's not easy it's still worth it because you can earn and at the same time it's a big help for the people in the community.

And It's been our source of income in our family for over 2 years and until now okay pa naman HAHA.

Okay nman tlga sya, it's a matter of perservere lang dn talaga kasi minsan mahina pero as long as di ka hihinto, go lang.

#MarketFriday loves you!

Hi, Paul! @mrnightmare89 It looks like you are doing well in your life! I am so happy to see that and it turns out, you are quite the businessman now. Are you back to your hometown again? I know you left to work and then went back, so I haven't checked lately to see where you are.

I hope you are well, the store does good and your family is fine!! You sound good!! Miss your posting!

#MarketFriday began as a way to reach out across the globe and learn about different cultures through their markets, especially local markets and farmers' markets, and eventually branched out and evolved over time from straight shopping to a cultural affair as it highlights how we differ and then again, how much we are alike. We have become a melting pot of culture, but it is still the Rituals, Festivals, food, architecture, and even your language/languages that separate us... Along with the fact that these things are normal for us. There are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. A strong culture can be beneficial to a country as it promotes unity, especially during a crisis, peaceful debate, and open dialogue. I have learned so much about all of you and it has been an amazing experience. I can only hope that learning about each other can help us work together for a peaceful world.

Thank you for being a part of #MarketFriday

Yeah, sounded like one but too far from it, and yeah I'm home. Taking care of my small store and then blogging sometimes if I have time. Sorry for not being so active because sometimes it's draining having a store. Thanks as always, Denise..regards..
