DIY Recycled Cardboard Flower Crown Critter (Spring Kid's Activity)

in #hive-1305602 years ago

I love kid's activities with recycled boxes, so I've always broken down and saved boxes from diapers and pull-ups. It reached a point where I had to put them in the outside shed. It's great because once they get tired of it, you can just toss it without any guilt.

I saw this Spring flower crown idea on Instagram and decided to create my own for Gabby. This is one of those projects where you can alter it to your own style. You can create various animal characters and change the size to your liking. It helps with fine motor skills, too. It's great during the Spring time when there's various dandelions, white clovers, and buttercups all over the yard.

Check out the how-to below!

Materials:

  • Cardboard
  • Cardstock paper
  • Permanent Marker
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Hole Punch
  • Pen (for punching holes)

Step #1. Draw the animal design in pencil.

Step #2. Trace the pencil with black marker and color to your liking. Cut out the shape ⬆️

Step #3. Punch holes along the top of the white cardstock design so that it resembles a flower crown ⬆️

Step #4. Use the hot glue gun to glue the cardstock design onto the cardboard

Step #5. Trim the cardboard to whatever size you want ⬆️

Step #6. While using the previously punched holes as a guide, use the pen to poke holes through the cardboard ⬆️

A great idea for outdoor activities for children. The great thing is that they can look for many flowers and place as many as they want in the different designs they can make.
