Happy Monday everyone, friends of Hive & Needle Work Monday ❤️. I hope you all had a great weekend. Today I am happy to have finally organized my time better and to have a sewing job to share with you. This last time I was a bit disconnected from sewing, because despite the fact that it is one of my favorite activities, I could not find enough motivation to sit down to start or finish a project. Something like 'writer's block', but in a seam version. However, after finishing this work I remembered how satisfying it is for me to achieve something beautiful and my mood improved considerably ❤️.

Hoy estoy feliz por finalmente haber organizado mejor mi tiempo y por tener un trabajo de costura para compartir con ustedes. Este último tiempo estuve un poco desconectada de la costura, porque a pesar de que es una de mis actividades favoritas, no encontraba la motivación suficiente para sentarme a empezar o a terminar un proyecto. Algo así como el 'bloqueo del escritor', pero en versión costura. Sin embargo, después de terminar este trabajo me acordé de lo satisfactorio que es para mí lograr algo hermoso y mi humor mejoró considerablemente ❤️.
Last weekend I had found a free time in my schedule to sit down and sew, but we had problems with the electricity and I couldn't even turn on the machine. Likewise, I was so bored that I managed to sew the zipper to a backpack, manually turning the wheel until I was done. That day I really wanted to sew something to clear my head, but I'm glad the electricity is working now because it was quite a tedious process. With everything working correctly and my desire ready to get to work, I was able to make this black and silver lace panties, a fabric that gave me a lot of results and will continue to do so because I still have enough 😅.
El fin de semana pasado había encontrado un momento libre en mi agenda para sentarme a coser, pero tuvimos problemas con la electricidad y ni siquiera podía prender la máquina. Igualmente, estaba tan aburrida que logré coserle el cierre a una mochila, girando el volante manualmente hasta que terminé. Ese día tenía muchas ganas de coser algo para despejarme, pero me alegro de que la electricidad ya funcione bien ahora porque fue un proceso bastante tedioso. Con todo funcionando correctamente y mis ganas listas para poner manos a la obra, pude confeccionar esta bombacha de encaje negro y plateado, una tela que me dió bastantes frutos y lo seguirá haciendo porque todavía tengo bastante 😅.
The good thing about having bought a lot of this fabric in the past is that I don't have to deal with current prices (yet). I bought this fabric almost two years ago, and it probably costs triple what I paid for it now. Inflation in Argentina has been hitting us quite hard with prices and we are sadly used to this, but luckily Hive saves me a bit when I have to maintain the value of my savings. I think that with the fabric that I have left, I can still do a few more projects because I had bought more than 8 meters of elasticated lace 😅.
Lo bueno de haber comprado mucha de esta tela en el pasado es que no tengo que lidiar con los precios actuales (todavía). Compré esta tela hace casi dos años, y seguramente ahora cueste el triple de lo que lo pagué. La inflación en Argentina viene golpeándonos bastante duro con los precios y estamos tristemente acostumbrados a esto, pero por suerte Hive me salva un poco cuando tengo que mantener el valor de mis ahorros. Creo que con la tela que me queda, todavía puedo hacer unos cuantos proyectos más porque había comprado mas de 8 metros de puntilla elastizada 😅.
The input that I did run out of are the straps to make bras. That if I'm going to have to buy it soon if I want to make these garments. Given the lack of straps, I chose to make a panties entirely out of lace fabric. I like adjustable panties, but the ones that cover up a little more also look beautiful to me ❤️.
El insumo que sí se me terminó son los breteles para hacer corpiños. Eso si que voy a tener que comprarlo a la brevedad si quiero fabricar estas prendas. Ante la falta de breteles, elegí hacer una bombacha íntegramente de tela de encaje. Me gustan las bombachas regulables, pero las que tapan un poco más también me parecen hermosas ❤️.
After all the fabrics are joined in place, with seams tucked in the crotch for neatness, it's time to attach the elastics on the sides. I still have a few meters of this elastic, so it won't be a problem for now. Sewing all this elastic around the contour takes some time because you have to double stitch it, but this is even better because it will prevent it from coming undone quickly ☺️.
Después de unir todas las telas en su lugar, con costuras escondidas en la entrepierna para más prolijidad, es momento de colocar los elásticos de los costados. De este elástico todavía tengo unos cuantos metros, así que no será problema por ahora. Coser todo este elástico por el contorno lleva algo de tiempo porque hay que pasarle doble costura, pero esto es aún mejor porque evitará que se descosa rápido ☺️.
A crucial part of making this panties design is joining the selvedges. In this part both elastics have to coincide and the union of the fabrics should be noticed as little as possible. Doing this is always a lot of work for me because when I don't get it neat enough I have to unstitch everything again, so I opted to baste first and machine later. This makes the end result look great ❤️.
Una parte crucial de la confección de este diseño de bombacha es unir los costadillos. En esta parte tienen que coincidir ambos elásticos y la unión de las telas debe notarse lo menos posible. Hacer esto siempre me lleva bastante trabajo porque cuando no logro la prolijidad suficiente tengo que descoser todo de nuevo, por lo que opté por hilvanar primero y pasar la máquina después. Esto hace que el resultado final se vea muy bien ❤️.
Finally, all that remains is to sew an elastic inside the garment, at the waist so that the panties fit well. You can also add a small decorative bow. I made this panties with almost no distractions and I finished it very quickly, I even felt sorry for going so long without making one 😅.
Finalmente, solo queda coser un elástico por el interior de la prenda, en la parte de la cintura para que la bombacha ajuste bien. También se puede agregar un pequeño moño decorativo. Hice esta bombacha casi sin distracciones y la terminé muy rápido, hasta me dió pena haber pasado tanto tiempo sin hacer una 😅.
After all the work, this is how it looks from the front and from the back. Currently, a piece of clothing like this can cost up to 5000 ARS (approx. 6 USD), so I'm glad I developed this skill. It also keeps my wardrobe always renewed and with new and beautiful clothes ❤️.
Después de todo el trabajo, así es como se ve por el frente y por detrás. Actualmente, una prenda como esta puede costar hasta 5000 ARS (6 USD aprox), por lo que me alegra haber desarrollado esta habilidad. También mantiene mi guardarropas siempre renovado y con prendas nuevas y hermosas ❤️.
