After completing the Cosmic Creations No. 8 Contest theme "Inspired by Nature." I wanted to share with you another mixed media art project related to the theme. The theme for this project is "the cycles of nature".
All ecosystems depend upon each other for life. What we know as the cycle of life actually begin at birth for every organism. Once born, a period of rapid growth occurs as all organisms travel through time. Environmental and other factors at play intertwine with life until death. This natural cycle exists in animals, plants, and humans.
To assist in creating my landscape nature theme, I was inspired by the advanced version of the generative art program, Nvidia Gaugan. Since using this version, I'm able to produce beautiful and ethereal landscape images.
For this project, my brushstrokes consisted of mountains, rivers, and rocks. I include the brushstrokes from the drawing program's various tools that produced the landscape image.
Next, I included four pure fractals I created using the advanced fractal rendering program, Apophysis 7X. Rounding out my images were two free-sourced photos that were central to the nature theme.
I uploaded all images for this project into Canva, my design program. The generative art image is lovely by itself, so it didn't require a crowded field of images. I wanted the natural beauty of the image that I'm using as the background to be seen.
I share my procedures below in how I accomplished this:
To a blank, white canvas, I added the generative art landscape image.
I resized the generative art landscape image to fill the canvas.
Added the saucer dish and flower to the water, duplicating where needed.
Added the water drop image.
Added the fractal worm to the water drop.
Added the bird and white fractal for texture.
With the bird, I used a filter to distort the image into an alien version. This completed the project.
