I Was Once A Bird | A Mixed Media Art Project for Cosmic Creations - Inspired By Nature - No. 3

I was excited with the Cosmic Creations No. 8 Contest theme "Inspired by Nature." Having already completed and submitted my entry, I wanted to share with you another mixed media art project related to the theme.

In my "Inspired By Nature" Theme No. 3, I wanted to portray a vixen enamored with birds. She believes she is their caregiver and protector. She speaks to them, and they perform her bidding. She provides a special dwelling for their safety. They are surrounded by the beauty of nature.

My project showcases three of my awesome pure fractals I recently design in the advanced fractal rendering program, Apophysis 7X. The pink veil was used to cover the face of the scene and provide an ethereal look.

Other images I located that I felt fit well with my scene were a woman and a bird in a night foggy setting. A bird and a moon were also included.

I chose as my design program, Canva, so I uploaded all images in the hopes of blending them into an ethereal scene. Below are the procedures I used:

Started with a blank, white canvas.

Added image of woman and bird.

Duplicated woman and bird image to fill the canvas.

Added fractal flower.

Duplicated and repositioned fractal flower in the landscape. Added bird and eye image.

Removed background image of bird and eye image; then repositioned it.

Added the veil fractal. Haven't decided where to position it.

Resized the veil fractal to fill the entire canvas and provide a frame for the woman and bird. This lightened up the background and enhanced the image, I feel.

Added a moon.

Colorized and repositioned moon. Completed project.

When I look at that picture I start creating fiction for it in my head or at least imagine that a whole story and world exists within that glimpse.

Also, great title "I was once a bird" really sets the tone for that imagination!

It's night for me, and I'm about to call it quits. But if the photo and title inspire you, then go for it. I didn't have time for short fiction this week on my projects, but I usually include one if time permits. Litguru remarked that the scene looked like a pulp sci-fi fiction. Would love to see what you come up with if you have time.
