Hello Gardeners
How are you today ? I hope and pray, we are all always given health and also happiness in living this life. I am very happy, finally given the time and opportunity to be able to participate again in the Hive Garden Community. After almost 10 days, I am busy with various activities in my shop and also activities in my hydroponic garden.

The last few days, the weather where I live looks very extreme. During the morning until noon, the weather will be very hot here. In the evening and at night, it will rain very heavily. Heavy rain accompanied by very strong winds also had an impact on my hydroponic garden.

I was very surprised when I saw that the UV plastic roof on my Hydroponic Media was damaged because it was hit by a very strong wind. Even though I just repaired this uv plastic roof about 6 months ago. I don't know, whether it was due to the effects of a very strong windstorm or because the quality of the UV plastic that I used was not good. In fact, some of my hydroponic media that still use other UV plastic roofs are still safe and not damaged.

Apart from the damaged plastic roof, in general the condition of the vegetables in my hydroponic garden seems to be growing very well. So, I will invite my friends to see it one by one.

For the first time, I invite you to see the condition of the lettuce that I grow in my hydroponic garden. Lettuce is one of the favorite vegetables to be grown with a hydroponic system. Basically, lettuce is a vegetable grown in the middle or highlands. However, the hydroponic farming system allows us to grow lettuce in the lowlands, such as Medan City.

I have lettuce at two different growing ages. The photos above are lettuce with a planting age of about 28 days after sowing. I have about 500 pots of Batavia lettuce from Indoseed which is known for its productivity and high quality.

During this planting period, I used a liquid fertilizer solution with a concentration of around 650-700 ppm. The application of this fertilizer concentration is based on the standards I have read, to obtain optimal lettuce growth requires a concentration of 600-800 ppm. All of these lettuces grow very well and optimally, we can see it from the green color of the leaves and the uniform growth of the lettuce.

Apart from that, I also have about 180 pots of lettuce that I planted on the second floor balcony of my house. I also use hydroponic liquid fertilizer with a concentration of around 600-700 ppm for this planting period. However, the condition of the lettuce on the second floor balcony of my house did not grow as optimally as the lettuce in my hydroponic garden.

There are two fundamental differences, namely I use two different lettuce seeds. For those 500 pots I use Batavian lettuce from Indoseed, while on the second floor balcony of my house. I use grand rapids lettuce from East West Seed. So, I'll be waiting for the conditions for the growth of this lettuce next week.

Condition of Kangkong in My Hydroponic Garden
Next, I invite you to see the condition of kangkong in my hydroponic garden. Kangkong is also a favorite vegetable to grow in a hydroponic system. Kangkong has excellent growing power, and its growth is very fast compared to other vegetables. There is only one problem with kangkong, the selling price is cheap.

About five days ago, I harvested about 7 kilograms of kangkong from my hydroponic garden. After the harvest process, I immediately moved around 220 pots of kangkong into my hydroponic medium. The process of moving the kangkong is a very busy activity because each seed will be moved manually one by one to the hydroponic media.

During this planting period, I used a hydroponic liquid fertilizer with a concentration of around 1000-1100 ppm. The kangkong that I planted during this planting period grew very well and optimally. We can see it from the uniform growth of watercress and the green color of the leaves. I think, next week we can harvest this kangkong.

Condition of Pakcoy in My Hydroponic Garden

20230813_171932.jpg

About four days ago, I gradually harvested pakcoy in my hydroponic garden. Until all the pakcoy that I planted I have harvested and sold about 10 kilograms. For every 1 kilogram of pakcoy, I get around 1 USD and that is very profitable for me.

After the harvest process, I have to get ready to sow the pakcoy seeds. I have prepared about 120 pakcoy seeds to replace the pakcoy that I have harvested. The pakcoy seeds that I sowed this time grew very well and optimally. All of these pakcoy seeds have uniform growth and it seems that in about two or three days I will be able to transfer them to my hydroponic media.

Finally, I invite you to see the condition of mint leaves in my hydroponic garden. Mint leaves are one of the most profitable plants in my hydroponic garden. Since I started farming with a hydroponic system, mint leaves have become a plant that has never been lost in my hydroponic installations or media.

I have about 220 pots of mint in my hydroponic garden. I planted mint leaves in a PVC hydroponic installation with several installation models. All the mint leaves that I planted this time showed very good and optimal growth, I can't wait to harvest these mint leaves.

That's all for my weekly journal hydroponics this time, see you next week.

Good to see that you are still going at it and that its still looking good.

Mint is pretty hardy isnt it? Even in my neglected garden space the mint survived and carried on, even gainst competition.

hello @zakludick thank you for stopping by
You are absolutely right, mint is a plant that has very strong and long-lasting durability. It's just that, you have to do the pruning when it thrives. If not, the leaves will be eaten by caterpillars.

That's interesting! Will you take photos of that and tag me in when you share them? I would like to see how you prune them!

You are really a nice gardener as you are using technology and using uv plastic layer to protect your garden. Even a gardener like me ignores these things.

hello @tahastories1 thank you for stopping by and I am very happy to be able to provide information and inspiration to everyone who reads it.

greetings brother @isdarmady. I have created my own account no longer joined my wife's account. follow me ok. I really want to visit my brother's house. I want to learn hydroponic gardening with my brother.

hello @tomidiwirja thank you for stopping by and I will definitely follow your new account. It's always fun to learn new things, hope you can stop by my hydroponic garden next time.

Hi there my friend, did you build this hydroponic system?

hello @afterglow thank you for stopping by
yup, that's absolutely true. I made it about 7 years ago for this hydroponic installation. I also have a side job for making hydroponic installations in my city.

Very nice, how much did you spend? Can I use any form of tube?

This hydroponic system of garden is amazingly beautiful. Over here, we do plant directly on the ground. I wish I can witness this your style live.

Hello @marajah thank you for stopping by. I am very happy to be able to provide new information and inspiration for you. Whether on the ground or with a hydroponic system, we must farm with passion and energy.

You're right. It worths it
