Greetings dear community, today I share with you my participation in the Needleworkyourjeans Contest, where we are invited to do needlework using pants fabric, for this I have used 4 pants fabric, one is beige pants, one dark blue jeans, light blue jeans and I also used a piece of pink fabric that was also from an old pants. I decided to make a doll in the shape of a humanized kitten, stuffed with anti-allergic fiber, this is the first time I've made a cloth doll so I worked hard to achieve a good result, I hope you like it.
Proceso / Process
First of all I made a drawing on a sheet of paper, this served as a guide, determining the general shape of the doll, in my mind it is a Siamese cat so for the body I would use beige fabric, while the legs, ears and tail would be dark blue jean fabric, I started by sewing the two parts of blue fabric and the beige fabric to make the upper front legs. I sewed and turned the fabric and stuffed the legs.
For the couples, I sewed two triangles of beige fabric with two triangles of dark blue fabric, so that when turned around one side would be light and the other dark. I then used only dark blue fabric to make the tail, stuffed the tail, ears unstuffed. Flipping the legs and tail was a bit difficult due to how thin they are but I finally got it right.
I cut the beige fabric in the shape of the head and body, I pinned the ears and paws to the inside making a fabric sandwich, sewed the body except for the bottom, turned around and finally sewed the tail.
Like the front legs, I made the back ones by sewing the blue and beige fabric before sewing the edges of the legs, I turned the fabric inside out and stuffed the legs. I stuffed the body, attached the legs and pinned them for the final seam of the body. The result was the body of a kitten in two colors just like a Siamese.
With light blue jean fabric, cut two rectangles, join them at the edges leaving a space for the crotch and the tail on one side. I folded in the opposite direction leaving the seams in front and sewed the crotch. Finally I sewed the bottom doubles and at the waist I placed elastic on the inside before sewing. I made these last seams with pink thread.
The piece of pink fabric had a floral embroidery so I took advantage of that detail to make the front part of the little blouse. For the neck with rolled acrylic yarn and crochet I made 36 chains and closed them in a circle.
For the bow of the head, I cut a rectangle of light blue jeans fabric, with the acrylic yarn and the crochet I made an edge making a single crochet and a chain consecutively, for the center I made three single crochets for several rows and sewed the center of the loop With a blue and black pen I drew the face and painted the cheeks with pastel chalk.
Resultado / Result
This kitten was very cute so I gave it to my mom as a gift, I know she will take good care of her, she told me she never had a doll like this and this counts as the first 🥰
