Four Corners || His DIY Project | Freewrite's Prompt by @mariannewest

in #hive-1611553 years ago

It was his school project to build house or bungalow or any building you desired by using the main material — ice-cream sticks. So, I went to MR. DIY shop to buy whole bunch of ice-cream sticks and the super glue for him. After we scouted together some beautiful awesome wooden sticks projects on YouTube, he opted for simple one, because he wanted to name it Jayden's Joy Four-Corner House (instead of his friends rich bungalow house, beautiful long houses). Also, he said, that way, he could finish it faster, lol

I can't help but to type this at Freewriters due to the spot-on prompt.

Super simple, right? To me, it was cute and adorable. 😍

It wasn't an easy project and I was glad he chose just do this humble four corners. We saw other friends' project, oh my, it blew our mind. One reallyyyy did a huge bungalow, three stories, I couldn't imagine the number of sticks used, or the sweat and tears behind it. I really loved my son's idea. Four-corner! Yup, just do four sides. Roof. Base. Add some windows or decos so that teacher could see some effort there, you know, sometimes teacher tends to bypass the little effort of one student when the teacher made comparison.

Tools.

I am going to be honest, we lost our patience so many times. Trying to stick them together while making sure it sticks before we move on to the next. I helped him a lot because I couldn't see him suffer. But, he pulled it off and did the base really well.

Then, the front and back sides.

The hardest was the both left right sides where we needed to cut off the sticks to shape the pointy part. My hands sore using scissors to cut them, I thought it was easy but so much strength needed to cut the wood diagonally.

Sticking the four sides together was easy though. And then stick the house onto the base.

Last was the roof when my son tried and it was so difficult, he disappeared from action. He asked me whether could I help or else he was willing to pass up no roof, said the storm blew the roof away. Puff!

Needless to say, I helped.

He actually felt bad due to him giving up halfway, so he said at least he put some windows or decorations. And yellow door.

I think this is a lovely house with just four corners. I love to see him put his effort although it was not something he was natural with. It was my first time too. He loved it and told me that sometimes living in a small house doesn't there is no happiness. Joy does not base on the size of the house. We can live in small house like this one, but still happy. Oh, my boy!
