When I got back from the ride on Monday afternoon, the contractor had put the floor outlet back into the bamboo flooring, but had used shorter screws so as to not hit the subflooring. This will allow the floor to float more easily, we hope.
Then he finished the last of the shelf supports. The one on the left leaves room for the sandbox for root veg storage. The one on the right leaves room for the potato box. That has a top that opens.
I had a lot of the wire shelves finished and installed them.
I had gotten a lot of 12’ shelves for the root cellar but in 2021 I had stolen a few to make shelves for the seedling trays and lights in the dining room. I was afraid I didn’t have enough left for the root cellar. But it turns out I had exactly enough left.
The contractor will be here on Wednesday and he has another idea for closing the last crack in the dining room to try. He will also cut the wire shelves to size and I will work on the ends and install them. That’s a job I can do.
