The contractor was here on Sunday afternoon. We looked at the dining room floor and talked about how to fix it. The new plan is to put some sort of a spring between the wall and the flooring to slowly press the boards together in winter and allow them to expand in summer without heaving.
Then he got started on the root cellar shelving and finished the supports for the small unit. He’s working with leftover lumber, some of which is twisted or curved, so it’s taking a while to get things done.
He’s got the standing supports up for the first section and figured out the shelf around the outlet.
He won’t be back until Wednesday to continue on the shelves.
