Hello, Needlework community! and all creative hivers,
It's been a very tiring week for me, still, I couldn't bring most of my project to completion, no thanks to falling sick at the early start of last week, I guess I needed some rest, and I did rest, by weekend I felt more alive and super healthy as well, after the much-needed rest and also following my doctors prescription. So my advice to everyone is that when you are at that point where your body needs to rest, don't force yourself to work, you might end up not liking the finished outcome due to many errors, I've had this experience as well, haha, wasn't funny then, I had rip the whole seams, set the patterns apart and start afresh, you know how frustrating this can get.
Over the weekend, I decided to try my hands on something easy and less tasking, I needed a black skirt as required to be worn to church. As an usher in church, we usually come up with dressing in an almost uniform appearance, and this time, a black skirt with any African print blouse was asked of us, and that what was inspired my skirt.
I had cut out the plain skirt patterns, using a thick crepe fabric,
Then I decided to get more creative with my skirt, 😉 trust me, remember these prints, if you followed my blog in a while, you must have come across me making a dress, my mum's jacket, and another dress I gifted a girl in my neighbourhood. Can you believe I still used the same fabrics to design my skirt, they look a mess here but still made something beautiful.
I cut out a flowery pattern using pattern paper and then transferred it to the pieces of fabric, after which I ironed a soft stay on the wrong side Of the flowery cut-out fabric.
Using my hemming gum, Ironed it on the front part of the skirt, and finally, placed rhinestones around the flower for more glitter. I uploaded a video for more details, I just love how videos liven up our imaginations.
My uniquely designed skirt is ready, now everyone wants me to do the same design on their skirt as well, haha😂
What do you thick about this fabric flower patch design, let me know in the comment section.
Please note, all inages used in this post are mine.
Thanks for your time on my blog.❤❤
