Here's How It Works

  • We publish a collection every time we collect about seven posts (rather than to a weekly deadline), so some of these might be past their voting date.
  • THREE of the authors here recieved a TEN PERCENT beneficiary from THIS post, so make sure you upvote to support them!
  • The author of the post also recieves 10 percent beneficiary, although they may on occasion choose to waive it. All other rewards are powered up to help the community upvote.

If you head to the COLLECTIONS section on Peakd, you'll be able to find relevant posts for your needs. And if you can't find them, ask a question via LEO THREADS or in a post on the community. There's so many people around willing to give advice or point you in the right direction! Happy Gardening!

The Shed...

This week's posts are a mixed garden wheelbarrow. @bluefinstudios writes about the hunger gap and how it can be addressed by growing your own food. It's even more important when you think about how big agriculture force grows vegetables at the expense of nutritive value. This post is the second of a two part exploration of the Hunger Gap.

It was great to see this post shared on Threads - Hive Gardeners clearly appreciated the detailed advice on how to germinate seeds.

Carrying on from @bluefinstudio's post about the Hunger Gap, one of the ways in which this can be addressed is through community swaps. Sharing produce can be a great way to connect to others and fill gaps in our food supply. I'm glad @dora381 chose to go as the site was a beautiful garden and I think she enjoyed it too. I included this post for those who might like to start something similiar in their own communities and wonder what other people are doing.

The topic of community and gardens was also raised by @akipponn in the following post. Do stop by and join the conversation!

If you're new to permaculture, you might not know about swales - they're a common practice in a permaculture garden, and @stortebeker tells us about them here. They are a good way to direct and keep water in a dry garden.

And if you're interested in aquaponics or any kind of 'ponics, as @ligayagardener puts it, check out these bell siphons..

Thanks for mentioned @gardenhive

I'm glad you mentioned me @gardenhive. Thank you so much 🙏

Grow in our gardens! Besides growing veggies, I am letting things flower and going to have more seeds to plant and share with others!

Fantastic! We love seeing your updates.
