Hive as a blockchain has many ways to access it. I usually think of the Hive blockchain as a rapidly expanding, massive storage facility like a Silo. Everyone is free to come to this storage facility to keep their valuabales or retrieve same. This massive storehouse is however accessible through several roads, entrances and networks. Depending on your current location, you could easily use one of the routes to get the storage facility. Hive is just like that.
The Hive blockchain is a large store of data on the blockchain. The many different frontends here provide a way to link to the data stored on the blockchain to acces it, or even to send data to the blockchain. Depending on your interest or what you find easy to use, the many frontends on hive are all amazing. While you could have one or two that are cool for you, its important too to explore what is obtainable elsewhere. Who knows, you might just hit another goldmine and add to your favorites.
Much later in this presentation, I will share with us two frontends I recently stumbled upon. But before then, Here are some really cool reasons you should publish from the frontend of any project if they have one.
Why Publish from a particular frontend
So if a community, team or tribe has a frontend for reading and writing data to the blockchain, the following five reasons should move you to want to try them out:
- Healthy Competition: A market where there is only one seller would definitely not be preferrable to one with many sellers from the perspective of a buyer. In all sectors of human endeavors, having many players in a particular field contribute to a healthy competition where everyone want to be the best. The same thing applies in this field of technology - and here on Hive. If all of us access the blockchain through one frontend, the developments we see here would not have been this fast.
So with so many frontends, each team is trying to outperform the next. Dev teams are constantly experimenting with new features, or trying to fix know bugs on their frontend. Nobody sleeps a second, otherwise they loose the competition. With all these things trying to be better, to outdo others, the result is a platform with many really cute frontends and we the end-users are benefiting much from this competition.
- Enhanced opportunity for Support: I know that each team wants you to publish your posts or interact with the blockchain from their frontend. While all have designed various ways to attract and return their audience, there is always a better opportunity to land some support when you use a particular frontend. Some of these projects with layer 2 tokens seem to give out more to those that publish from their frontend.
Customer loyalty reward is a crucial aspect of marketing. There are incentives for customers that keep coming back to patronize a brand. That is exactly what is obtaining with many Hive frontends. As an end-user, you stand more chance of getting supported by a project if you interact with the blockchain from their frontend.
- Better UI features: This is one of the most interesting aspect. Each Hive frontend is designed in a particular way, with unique features. The dev teams think differently and so the end product will not look the same. So you will definitely find one frontend more appealing than the rest. What works fine for you, might not look great for another user. So when this variety is available, making a choise becomes leisure.
With many frontends on Hive, we have really cool ways to access the Hive blockchain. I love some frontends for how they organized the social aspect of a user's blogpage. I love another frontend for their cool notfication features. For another frontend, I appreciate them for including word couter in their design. So there are many cool UI out there with many of these Hive frontends.
- Supporting the Team: These dev teams and those sponsoring them have done a lot of work. They have invested time and money to come up with their product. They all deserve some support and encouragement. One cool way to appreciate their work is to put it to use.
Additionally, I love to give feedbacks to teams that appreciate it. Feedbacks help a team to see what is working for many and what needs to be fixed. So while you use any frontend, take your time to pen them what is so cool about the frontend and what upgrades you will appreciate in the next release.
- Time out Alternative: There are times when one frontend is having issues. As such, it might not correctly interact with the blockchain and access data the way it is. When that happens, having these many frontends provide real and efficient alternatives. While the dev team tries to fix the problem, you still have alternatives to continue accessing the blockchain.
If one team decides to shutdown and call it a day, the blockchain remains operational as many other frontends provide the needed link for users to continue enjoying their experience. So when one frontend closes, Other ones remain active.
Recently discovered two Frontends
Yes writing about frontends, I just stumbled upon two new ones. I never knew they existed. They are:
- Proof of Brain (PoB) frontend - https://www.proofofbrain.io/
The above is the frontend for PoB community. I know of this community, but do not know they have such a wonderful interface. Of course, that is what I used to publish this post. Maybe I will writea review of my user experience later.
- Do it Yourself (DIY) tag frontend - https://www.build-it.io/
If you are making any crafts by yourself, you usually include the #diy. When you use this tag, your DIY post will appear in the above frontend and you have the opportunity to earn BUIDL tokens. Of course, I beleive one can publish directly from their to earn the tokens and have more exposure.
Conclusion
This is probably my first post in POB community. Cant remember writing here recently. Whichever way, I am delighted to have seen the https://www.proofofbrain.io/ frontend. For the reasons listed above and many others, I published through the frontend
