Vygie Flower Photographs
Summer is here and the flowers are responding to the heat. Last week or so I showed the progress of the “Vygies”. This week they are finally opening up! But there are still so many unopened buds. It is amazing how beautiful these flowers are and they are attracting so many bees and other pollinators. The colour of the flowers are amazing and just so beautiful.
September Bush
The is a local shrub or bush that is sometimes referred to as the September bush. Its latin name is polygala myrtifolia. It also has the most beautiful flowers this time of the year. It is a prolific grower and I have successfully planted various ones from seed. The carpenter bees love these flowers and the garden is full of them.
Other Flowers
Various other flowers and plants are doing so well with the warmth the last couple of days. It is so beautiful all of the flowers opening up and attracting insects and birds. Various birds have returned to the garden since the cold winter.
We are remodelling the kitchen
We have talked about remodelling the kitchen for a couple of years now. The kitchen is about 20 years old. Me and my dad are hobbyist carpenters and love to build wood tables and furniture. So we figured we could do the tops and cupboards. We knew that it would be a big job, but even though we did it still came with a shock as to how much work it is. We started this week and today was the worst of all the days: getting rid of the tiles. Luckily we had some helping hands. Tonight the kitchen resembles a blank canvas.
I hope that you are staying active and healthy. Keep safe.
