What Gift Did I Receive From HivePH Year-End Exchange Gift Celebration?

Last Friday night, December 16, 2022. Schedules to be the first part of the "End Year Celebration" with my newfound virtual home, the HivePH Community. More activities were coming next Friday, but we started the end year celebration by fulfilling the "wish list" where we posted our likes to receive this December. As I want to start my 2023 with healthy living and life, my wish list is seeds. It might be herbs and spices, vegetable seeds, or many more. Besides, I am not on the material side, I am minimalist, and it comes the night that I received my wish list, and I wasn't disappointed at all, happy that I received what I wanted this December end-year season.

The program was held in the discord channel of the HivePH community, and I first joined the sub-chamber of "Wish list", where I posted down my Hive username, waiting until I received the name of the person whom I would fulfill their wish list. It was all organized by @adamada .

Then @jonalyn2020 pressured me by asking, "what was my wish list" at first, I decided not to share, so the one who received my name could give anything they could. But I have been honest at last, and I posted my wish list "Seeds that have at least 90-100% germination rate. It's either vegetable seeds or herbs."

I received the Gift on December 15, 2022. I am excited to open the present, but I choose not to spoil the surprise. I waited until Friday and opened the exact gift time as the virtual exchange gift began. I also want to thank @romeskie for the Gift.

The day after, December 17, 2022, I am excited to wake up in the morning, Saturday, it might be best to stay in bed, but I am alive, for I scheduled that day to plant the seed. Like a child who's excited to again, I will do the things I loved, growing.

WHAT SEEDS DID I RECEIVE?

The fact buying and receiving seeds online was frightening. We might be scammed or receive seeds that cannot be grown. So I searched for the store; I loved the feedback and the main agenda of the sellers. It is a non-profit organization that sells quality seed, and 100% of the revenue will be given to funds for ecological projects.

I received 18 sachets of herb seeds, which is why I am excited to grow them.

  1. 4 sachet of Sage (Salvia officinalis)
  2. Three sachets of Cilantro/Coriander (Coriandrum sativum)
  3. Three sachets of Cinnamon Basil and one sacket of Sweet Basil (Ocimum basilicum)
  4. 1 sachet of Anise (Pimpinella anisum)
  5. One sachet of Italian Parsley (Petroselinum crispum)
  6. 1 sachet of Arugula (Eruca vasicaria)
  7. 1 sachet of Dill (Anesthum graveolens)
  8. 1 sachet of Lemon balm (Melissa officianlis)
  9. 1 sachet of Garland Chrysanthemum (Glebionis caronaria)
  10. And one sachet of free-seed Giant Sunflower.

WAS THE SEED LEGIT OR NOT?

This is the central question about why I am excited to plant them, which started last December 17, 2022.

I started by preparing my soil mixture, more on a portion of OM (Organic Matter). Have some recycled plastic cups that have been used twice and a transparent plastic cover to retain the moisture and indoor humidity of the seed.

Today December 20 2022, I checked the sampling. I started to see some emerging growth of roots and some apical stems coming.

I also started to plant my giant sunflower, which was a freebie. February to March will be the start of the hot season here in the Philippines, and if they ever survive, they will be ready to bloom.

I have more garden space, so my 2023 plan could still be possible.

Overall I was impressed with the fast germination of some plants, and I expected that some would be late to bloom for the seeds had different incubation and germination periods. Still, I saw a positive result as they were coming to produce cotyledon.

The goal for 2023 is to plant more greens, vegetables and herbs. My wish list was fulfilled this year; as the years grew, I knew that the seed I received could produce more, and unlimited sources would come from those herbs and forever be in my garden.

I am not on the material side but more on the long term. That's why I plan.

Parang gusto ko rin magtanim ng mga herbs na ganyan Yonong. Update ka lagi sa mga seeds please, para mainggit pa ako. Hehe, joke. Para mainspire pa ako to plant veges and herbs. 🥰 Congrats sa gift mo, Ang gaganda nila lahat.

Wow, the gift is very yonong! Can't wait to see these grow. 😊 I am most thrilled with the sunflowers. Give me some, okay? 😊

Wow! It's nice to know that you are there planting like these. Nature needs you. Keep it up.. God bless.

Ayan, madami mo na matatanim 😁

Wow. Nagstart ka na magplant! So happy you liked it. Can't wait to see the plants when they've grown. Natatakot din ako magplang ng mga ganyan but since ang unang parcel ay naligaw sa akin, magtatanim din ako next year.
