Hello Friends,
This drawing has a story, and I'd love to share it with you. Hopefully, you'll get as annoyed with Solluun as I did :D
Years ago, we played the 'Dragon Heist' campaign. Back then, I had a character named Falminar, and in the current campaign we're playing, I'm still playing the same character.
During the Dragon Heist story, Falminar attempted to capture a Drow who enjoyed hunting elves and half-elves in the harbor district of Waterdeep. In the midst of the fight, when the Drow tried to escape, Falminar exerted all his strength to catch the Drow and pulled them towards himself. However, the Drow had a pistol in their hand, and just as they were escaping, they fired the pistol point-blank into Falminar's chest, managing to flee. Falminar was near death, and though he was healed at the Temple of Gond, he sustained permanent damage. His strength score dropped to 6, and to move normally, he began wearing a suit of armor crafted by the priests of Gond. But even when his wound healed, the armor wore out and broke. His strength remained at 6, and in the present day, he relies on others to carry anything slightly heavy.
Now, fast forward to our current story in the D&D campaign. We're in our 19th week of play. At the beginning of the story, while on our way to Baldur's Gate, our path crossed with a convoy of Elturgard refugees, and we started journeying together towards Baldur's Gate. During the journey, the convoy was ambushed by bandits. As we fought the bandits, a stranger from the Elturgard refugees joined us in defending the convoy. This person was named Wöllem. Wöllem had a scar on their face and introduced themselves as a hunter. During the skirmish, a crossbow bolt flew perilously close to Falminar's ear, and Wöllem's arrow saved his life. This incident happened in the first week.
After arriving in Baldur's Gate, we encountered Wöllem intermittently. They wandered around, selling and distributing tea to everyone they met. In the 16th session, we witnessed Wöllem's departure from the city alongside a cleric we helped save.
In the 17th session, circumstances forced us to leave the city, and we redirected our route towards Candlekeep. After a series of adventures on the road, while setting up camp, Wöllem and the saved cleric approached us. We welcomed them with a greeting of "Welcome, friends." Our sorcerer showed them a necklace, his life's purpose. The duo revealed that they were going to rescue the person the sorcerer had to save and even offered for the sorcerer to join them. However, the sorcerer declined, unable to leave our group. Wöllem made tea for us... cursed tea that rendered us all paralyzed. The tiefling cleric warned Wöllem, "Solluun you promised not to harm them." Wöllem(Solluun) chuckled and replied, "I know, I'm just saying hello to a friend." They then individually guided each of us into our tents for safety. Lastly, Wöllem bent over my character, Falminar, who was paralyzed, removed the spell that made him appear human, revealing his yellow Drow eyes and the scar on his face. Wöllem looked into Falminar's eyes, placed their hand on the spot where the pistol shot had hit, and kissed Falminar on the forehead.
...
Solluun is a rarity among drows, with black hair, yellow eyes, and possessing all the handsomeness of the drow race. When drawing him, I needed to keep these aspects in mind.
I completed this drawing entirely during Twitch streams. Here, you can see me transitioning from the initial sketch to clean lines.
In my initial sketch, Solluun had one of his pistols pointed directly at us, but this pose triggered my traumas as Falminar, so I changed the direction of the pistol.
At this stage, I decided to change the direction of his hand and the pistol, and I completely messed everything up :D
I wasn't satisfied with his eyes at all and changed them again.
Thank You
