Its back to work today, but a bit of rain has delayed us, lets see if I can share some car pics from the last month.
Got the taillights upgraded to LED and found a new electrical guy, works with his dad, an expert, so I am really happy to support him in the generational relief.
Had to get the underbody powerwashed to run it through emissions, this car picks up a lot of dirt doing its offroading work! We got the paperwork updated, insurance paid and everything legal for another year.
Yesterday I had a few moments and got a minor adjustment, the back bar wouldnt stand on its own, so we welded some metal bit there to keep the roof up.
Next thing on the to-do list is get a new canvas thats a bit bigger so the rain runs off and doesnt drip into the car.
Old battery blew up, got a new one but this is the only pic I can find. (old battery)
That was the biggest dent so far in my pocket book, cost about 130 dollars for new one and we replaced the electronic regulator that seems to do something between the alternator and the battery, learned a bit about my electrical gauge along the way.
Since there is a lot of offroading to do around here, the mechanics stay pretty busy. Luckily I am a social guy and have made friends with most of them, its as easy as buying a round of beers and speaking spanish, but I am still amazed by their accumulated skill at these arts, keeping 40 year old models alive and kicking.
Always befriend your mechanics!
