Outlook prefers Edge

But I don't like it. So, here is a short information to set Outlook back to default browser

Did I say that I hate such stuff, as I setup Chrome as default

But the Update of Outlook change / override this setting.

Nevertheless, Microsoft seems to keep trying to force the Edge browser on users. Microsoft has now started informing IT administrators that Outlook and Teams will be forced to ignore the default web browser on Windows and open links in Microsoft Edge instead.

How to revert to the default browser

If you use Outlook as part of Microsoft 365 and have set a default browser other than Microsoft Edge, Outlook may have recently surprised you with unusual behavior:

Links that you click on in Outlook no longer open as usual in the default browser, for example Chrome or Firefox. Instead, Edge starts.

Here's how to make Outlook use the default browser again

Click on "File" at the top left, select "Options", then "Advanced". Here you will find the menu item "Open links from Outlook in...". Change the selection from "Edge" back to "Default browser" and confirm with "OK". Outlook will now use your default web browser again instead of Edge. It is not necessary to restart the program.
