I once made a rug in arts and crafts class in school. Something like this.

Gorgeous it was and the teacher was delighted with me until she put her hand on it to feel its plushness and instead of gently yielding under her touch, all the wool came out in her hand. I hadn't been using the tool yoke properly so the wool wasn't attached to the mesh, just stuck through the hole. I never did live that one down!
