In a heart beat

Sometimes everything happens in a heart beat, I believe everything does happen for a reason, there are times when living healthy, being grateful to be & feel healthy just isn't enough. There have been many obstacles in my life, but nothing like this, although it was with me the whole time, without me knowing.

Greetings, dear friends!
I have a story to share

It has been long time since I made the last post, actually it has been a long time since I went on a walk threw the forest or drove a car.

Sophie's news

"Amanda, did you read the latest news?"

"What news, sister?"

"They broke the Exchange where you have your cryptos!"

"What are you saying?" She shouted in a huff while manipulating the screen of her smartphone with glee.

Amanda followed the advice of Michael, the family crypto trader, despite Sophie's objections.

Spoiling my guests with meringue nests and meat pie

When dear people announce a visit, all my senses focus on it WHAT TO PREPARE? Especially when I haven't seen them in over six months, like yesterday when my friend came to visit for the first time since I moved.

I'm not sure about you, but I love spoiling my guests. So I decided on meringue nests, in keeping with the holiday spirit, who could refuse fluffy bits filled with vanilla cream?

Not me!

Taking Breaks & More Loss

The chaos of Christmas came about rather quickly this year. The panic to figure out what to purchase for relatives, the time going by incredibly quickly as the sun rises and sets a few hours later. Not much planned, not a whole lot of energy, but a plethora of things to do. All of which has led to the loss of Christmas spirit, which seems to be increasingly difficult to deal with each year. People ask me what I want for Christmas; I don't want anything though. This consumerist aspect of the season starting to push that little Christmas spirit more into the dirt; connections seem less authentic, and everyone just seems to feel that the holiday can only be celebrated by buying each other shit they don't really need or want.

PHOTO BREAKDOWN #002

When it comes to art, there are a million and one decisions to be made. What aspect ratio would better fit the story you are trying to tell? What colors should you use? What aspect ratio should your masterpiece be? For the artistically minded person, these constant choices can be daunting. In this blog post, I am breaking down one of my recent images and explaining the decisions I took while making it. Some of them are taken instinctively, others on the spot but they are what makes or breaks an image – decisions, decisions, decisions.

The day my bicycle was stolen (a letter to Hemingway)

Dear Hemingway,

It was you who said "write hard and clear about what hurts", right? So Hemingway this letter is for you.

I had much more world to see when I opened the result of the biopsy of my cervix and it said "adenocarcinoma in situ". Like any writer, I love words, but this is not exactly a pretty word, nor is it easy to understand, especially after your life has fallen apart. The pandemic had already taken many things from me, but that diagnosis took away my hopes of traveling so soon, and it all became a shelved desire, isolated and locked away somewhere in the soul, while many days passed by the window.
