Hello everyone
A beautiful day to you all, I hope you are having a great time at your respective places, it my pleasure to share with you on this beautiful day the cutting and sewing process of a shirt I made for my cousin. Join me as I take you through the cutting and sewing process, it a quick one and easy to make.
I like trying out new things on my own, making outfit for people around me has really helped me a lot as I try to make outfit for people close to me so as to help me know how to sew a particular outfit, it has really made me to learn through that process, thank God so for, I have not really damaged anyone's fabric. It's when I actually made the one for my family and friends that I will be bold enough to sew for a client. Anytime I see something new, I try to make same for someone close to me first before client.
Well, this outfit was made for my cousin who got employed few months ago,she needed a new out for herself and she wanted me to make it for her, she's one of those people that encourage my sewing skill, she wouldn't mind buying a new fabric for me to use to learn something new, she got the fabric for me to make a two piece outfit for her but first, I suggested that I make the top first before trying out the trousers. So, first thing first, I proceeded to the cutting and sewing of the shirt.
Cutting and sewing process
With my cousin's measurement I had with me, I drafted out the shirt pattern on a brown paper, first was to draft out the back pattern of the shirt which was cut on fold. For the back pattern, there will be no opening for zipper, since the front will be having opening.
For the front, I placed the drafted pattern on a folded fabric to cut out same shape but with 2" at the center front for the button allowance, the allowance was folded in to cut out the neckline, after cutting out the front and back pieces with the neckline, shoulder and full length measurement with ease and seam allowance, I proceeded to the sewing of the shirt.
After Sewing all the pieces together, this is what I have with the neckline neatly sewn.
