Mountain farm rustic roof project

in #hive-1143083 months ago

I am back on a job on a friend´s farm that is amazingly located on the side of a mountain with breathtaking views.
I have written a post about another project I did there which you can read here:

My friend´s father is an amazing carpenter and he´s been in the works preparing the main structure of this roof while I was busy with other projects.
I joined this last week to help lay the different layers of the roof that now follow.
wood (the visible ceiling), vapor membrane, Hemp insulation sheets, waterproofing membrane, wooden framing for the tiles and eventually ceramic tiles.

In this photo you can appreciate the sheer size of this extension of roof. 113m² / 1216.3ft².

This video shows view from the roof top of the ceiling being laid.

And here you can see the same ceiling from below a bit later. notice the massive granite rocks below the roofed area.

Details of a union on one of the main beams.

From a different angle.

I loved to work with my son´s tool belt and my father´s good old hammer ❤️

Nearing the end of the first layer.

Stay tuned for more on this projects, hopefully around mid September 🙏
