Hellow to all my fellow gardener in the world, how are your garden today?
I am hoping they are still healthy and neat.
So in this content i want to update my garden after 1 month i take care my succulent garden in my backyard. For your information, i live in Indonesia where the country has just 2 season that is rainy season and dry season. Starting June here comes dry season, so there is no rain at all in one month. For my succulent garden, this is the best season. Weather and temperature is hot and dry so i can make arrangement of reguler watering. If the weather is very hot like touching 38-40 C Degrees i can do reguler watering around 3 or 4 days once. if the temperature just only 28-34 C Degrees i will do reguler watering once in a week.

In my succulent garden it seems more lusting in Dry season than in wet season, wet and damp can make my succulent got fungi or virus or maybe bacteria that can kill my succulent or cactus.

in this content i want to share my update special to my Gymnocalycium Damsii variegata that i adopt aprobably a month ago or so. i wrote about this cactus once in my content you can see it here

Gymnocalycium Damsii Variegata

This is the new look after entering dry season in my country. The colour of the body seems more lustfull and the body more bulking than the first arrived. i know that this cactus is very like with the sunrays and hot temperature, Fortunately i am living in very hot area in Indonesia called Surabaya city. when comes at noon the temperature can reach around 41 C Degrees. and having average around 36-38 C Degree which is making the variegata cactus will be gain more red and yellowish colour on their body.
But, even they love sun rays, we need watching and take care about the reguler watering. they still need water to regain water in their body.
This cactus will saving more water from their root and keep it in the main core of the body. thats make this cactus can survive long enough in this heat and without water. About the fertilizer, i can say they dont need and dont like too much fertilizer in their growing bed. So, i am using fertilizer like just garden soil combined with roasted husk and cocopeat just it and no more additional fertilizer needed. For additional info, in my country dry season will inviting insects like ants or lice or bugs to make nest in this soil. If the insects is just like ants or bugs i think it will be okay, but if they are bring company like mealy bugs or spider mites., i think you need to using pesticide to kill the bugs or they will gnaw the core of the cactus and make the cactus die. Thats it for my update about one of the cactus in my mini succulent garden.
Lets see the comparison when this Gymnocalycium Damsii Variegata first planting and compared in the picture above.

You're really trying to take care of your garden. Do you know that as June is dry season in your country, here in Nigeria, it's pure raining month.

Keep on caring for your garden. Kudos

Usually from April till Oktober is dry season but lately the season seems change, and this year the dry season starting from June

This is a great post. I love the warm reds of some of your cactus. I can see it is a great plant to have in the dry season. I have some cactus too which are great in some dry parts of my garden but in other parts they die in the winter if there's a frost. Thanks so much for sharing.

i think when winter cames need to bring inside and adding lamp with high voltage to maintain the perform of the cactus.

WE still get light, and frost only happens in the worst of winter. Putting them on the front deck near the house seems to be good enough. That's where I have my aloe vera.

woaaa thats pretty awesome.try to arrange in one pot. that will be a very nice viewing terrarium at once nice spot for chillin
