We are more concerned with fast food even though we don't care about taste. But if you can prepare something quick and delicious, why not?
What dish would you make for breakfast, if you had ripe bananas? Let's forget about smoothies for a moment. Why? Well, it really sucks if we forget to freeze fruit, including bananas. So often smoothies are not the right choice for busy mornings.
This time my breakfast idea went to caramelized bananas. I chose this dish because it is very easy to make. It just takes precision and patience.
The Ingredients
I made two ripe bananas, with 1/4 cup of palm sugar.
For serving, I use plain yogurt. You can choose yogurt flavor according to your taste. Can choose blueberry yogurt, strawberry yogurt, etc.
Then as a compliment, you can use pieces of fresh fruit. I also use roasted almonds.
Instructions
First of all, I cut the bananas into small pieces. Then, heat the heat to make the caramel.
The thing to note here is not to burn the caramel from the palm sugar. You can avoid this by adding butter or cream when processing palm sugar into caramel.
Then when it has become caramelized, add the banana pieces. Cook while continuing to flip the banana pieces so they don't burn.
When the bananas have caramelized with palm sugar, then remove them. Serve while warm.
Serving Suggestions
Serve with yogurt, or sprinkle with roasted almonds and fresh fruits!
This is a healthy breakfast option, another menu alternative for those of you who don't want to make banana smoothies.
Well, if you don't have bananas, you can do the same for pumpkin, or sweet potatoes, or cassavas. But don't forget to boil these tubers before mixing them with the caramel sauce.
What do you think of this breakfast idea? Don't forget to give your opinion and I will really appreciate it. Happy weekend!
