Gentlemen, I know most of us have heard about Charles Darwin. He was the British naturalist and father of the theory of evolution by natural selection. He died this day at the age of 73 in Downe, England.
For sports lovers, here we go! Do you know that Maria Yuryevna Sharapova, the Russian leading tennis player was born this day in 1987 in Nyagan, Russia.
Again, on this day in 1972, the Brazilian soccer legend Rivaldo Vitor Borba Ferreira was born in Recife, Brazil.
Moreso, let's have a bit about politics now. Do you know that on this day in 2018, King Mswati III announced that he was changing his country's name from the Kingdom of Swaziland to the Kingdom of Eswatini and that is what the country is known as this day.
And finally today, let's go to religion. Now do you know that on this day in 2005 Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger was elected as Pope to succeed Pope John Paul II. Ratzinger took the name Pope Benedict XVI.
