I went today and looked into getting the insulation and the lumber to get the walls up in the step van today. Then start looking into the layout of the step van. I think I will build a wall across the back to have a little room for a little garage area and leave the roll-up door in place. Then a wall across the front. I will use 2x3 for these walls and insulate them also. The ceiling is already insulated.
I will put a door in the back and front walls and a couple of small windows in the back wall. I think I can find a small a/c to secure in one of the windows that is a small enough draw that I can run off the solar system. I am trying to not cut holes in the roof as that will lead to leaks over time. It will be hard for me to get on the roof to fix them and install things on the roof.
I have sent some e-mails looking for sponsors to help get the step van built with advertising on the side of the step van, nothing happened with those e-mails, So was thinking maybe putting wood on the inside of the step van to maybe attach the panels on the side and make it so I can tilt them up to get perfect sun on them to generate the power I need. Lots of ideas floating in my head right now. I can tell you that the price of lumber and building supplies is still high, hoping they come down some in the near future.
I got a pleasant surprise from @j85063 yesterday, he sent me 10 HBD to help with the step van build. I just wanted to say "Thanks" to him for the help. I believe that anyone that helps, as he did, I will make a place on the step van for all the members of Hive that helps me get this step van built. Not sure yet what exactly what but it will be something promoting Hive and those channel names on the step van.
Sorry, this was just a little brainstorming I was doing and it really helps me to type it out and maybe let you know what I am thinking about with the step van and the process I am going through to get it done. This is kinda a big DIY project for me! Maybe this will also help if someone else is thinking of doing this what is involved and what to expect. I hope everyone has a good night/day, whatever it is in their neck of the woods! ALWAYS FORWARD!
