Hello Hivers! I'm back again! I have been painting up a storm this past week and I have a few videos in the works.

I decided I really don't have enough painting experience to give a tutorial just yet, so I will now refer to it as a paint along! Maybe my art will inspire other painters.

As I said, I have been watching tons of painting tutorials and- there are a lot! But I have narrowed my studies to 2 different painters. One is a paint along artist, and the other teaches as she goes.

Aham Art is one of the first artists that caught my eye. They painted a snowman with such detail it popped off the page. I watched that video and then started to watch more. They have quick videos from start to finish, so they are easy to watch. I hope to learn how to shade and detail by using their videos for guidance.

In the Studio Art Instruction I found after doing some research. I was having trouble with trees... as we all know, and she had some pointers. She has over 110 thousands subscribers on You Tube! One of the commenters said she was the best on You Tube, so I am going to take their word for it.

Trying to learn from too many teachers gets to be too much! So let's see what I can learn from these two fine painters.

This week I learned that you have to mix your colors! The colors right out of the tube are way too wild and need to be tamed down. I learned that red/ yellow/ and black make tree trunk color. It's a dark brown that I forgot to mention, but I did use in the video for the tree trunks. Red/ yellow/ and blue make leaf color. With just those 4 colors you can paint a whole forest!

Speaking of forest, I was able to add a background forest with just some simple strokes of black paint. It turned out very cool looking. Another artist I watched did her snow similar to the way I did, but you know... much better.

And I finally got to use my fan brush for the X-mas Tree!

I only have a tiny one so I ordered a set fan brushes. I also ordered some Magenta since I see that color used a lot and it didn't come in my paint set.

I learned to paint the lights from yet another artist. When you put on the lights, use very little paint and rub it around in a circle, so it looks like it's glowing. Then you can add a bit of glow on the branches below, and on the ground. She had fancy glowing paints that looked really cool.

I recorded my paint along for her Christmas tree, but it was from memory, and I have a very fat tree. None the less it turned out pretty cool and has become my favorite, besides this one.

I decided that this year I'll be painting my Christmas gifts. I figure that when I become a famous painter maybe my earlier works will be worth some coin, so at least its a gift that may keep giving. But, I already don't want to part with my paintings!

What do painters do with all their finished projects???

Here is another tree that I tried to paint by watching another painter. This is an example of why you should not overdo it when shading. You can't see the branches. But it still looks cool!

I like how the background trees look in this one. I even like the crooked fence. The snow piled along the top makes it look better.

All in all- not bad for a beginner!!

I hope you enjoy watching my paint along!

And Now... it's Paint Time!!!!
