War in Ukraine, day three, life hacks

in #photography3 years ago

Who would have thought that in the twenty-first century. someone. will publish photographs of life hacks, the purpose of which is not survival in the jungle, while traveling, but survival in cities, during the invasion of an enemy army on a peaceful country that renounced the status of a nuclear power in exchange for guarantees of protection and sovereignty.

But that's what happened today air raid sirens sounded exactly three times in the city but cruise missiles fired by Russia from the territory of Belarus hit ammunition depots in the Volyn region in the city of Lutsk.

Apparently, during these three days, the sirens became something familiar and no one, neither I, nor my wife and children, heard these alarms and slept peacefully.

When I woke up I saw reports of rocket attacks on the news.

To survive in order to defeat the enemy is probably the only thing one can think about in such conditions.

To be honest I do not trust bomb shelters built where there is no air circulation system.

You have to look for options on how to protect yourself in your apartment but for now, this is only in case of an explosive wave, or flying fragments of shells not a direct hit by a rocket.

Russians use ballistic missiles to destroy infrastructure facilities in Ukraine and they rarely hit residential buildings, but. if the "Grad" or "Smerch" salvo rocket systems come within range of a shot, then, as a rule, they are aimed precisely at the civilian population and residential buildings.

The most vulnerable place of houses is the windows.

I decided to silently strengthen this link in the defense.

I installed two, thirty-liter canisters of water on the windowsill, this should, if not hold, then slow down the flying fragments. Unfortunately, I didn't find any sand nearby, and taking sand canisters to the ninth floor without an elevator, the elevators were turned off, is not the easiest option.

During the Second World War, people sealed the windows so that fragments of broken glass would not cause injury and death.

I found a roll of tape and my son sealed all the windows, but. it was only enough for two diagonals.

Perhaps these are too simple solutions to provide some security, but as they say, in war all means are good.

I photographed this cat when my family and I were hiding from a missile attack behind a retaining wall in a residential area of the city.

He obviously does not like the roar of the sirens, he nervously pressed his ears.

Peace to you!

Because this is such an awesome post, here is a BBH Tip for you. . Keep up the fantastic work

During the bombing around here in March '99, we kept all windows open the whole time, glass was taped in case pressure is too high during explosions, and we as kids were sleeping under the dinning table.

Wish you to stay safe and sound 🍀

May peace come, the news has us very sad to see what is happening in Ukraine.😭

Thank you, this is happening not only in Ukraine, imagine. how to live for generations of Russians who will know that their fathers killed civilians, old people and children in Ukraine. In Ukraine, the wounds will heal, but for the Russians, everything is just beginning, their life will become a real hell.

All the best to you all, barski 😓. That is so sad 😭😭

Thank you, I thank God that there was only one bombardment in our city, most of the air raid alerts were cancelled.

putting up the cannisters is very inventive. let's hope it will never be needed.

!PIZZA

Thank you, I'll gladly pour all the water out of them. but. I will keep the canisters as a memory of this time.

I’m really sad to see this my friend. Still hoping this mess finishes quick without more suffering.
What city you are located?

Thank you, my friend, I hope that the troops of Mordor will not reach the city of Rovno.

Generally it's better idea to seek cover underground however I do have to applaud your excellent use of some kind of defense and protection.

I am astounded at the news that Ukrainian forces are mounting a furious counter-attack now that Russians have trespass upon land that doesn't belong to them.

Then we have Putin threatening nuclear war...

Absolutely incredible.

Me and my puppy dog wish for peace to come to the world and for this conflict to come to a Swift diplomatic end.

Thank you, I completely agree with you that a bomb shelter is a safe place, but not when forced air circulation systems and power systems from generators have not been preserved there. Many hideouts have been converted into nightclubs, haunts, or simply public restrooms over the years.

Sounds like you could always organize some people and get to building!

It's a shame when you forget the lessons of the past.

Hopefully you will stay safe! Me and puppy dog are sending thoughts and prayers your way
