Origami Flower Pot Design

in #onchainart3 years ago

I have experimented with different concrete designs lately and mostly focused on candle holders. This time around I wanted to make something different so I decided to make a pot holder; something I can use to decorate my home.

I decided to start off with a hexagonal shape, a natural shape that will allow for many angles. Below you can see the design from above.

The reason why I wanted to immitate the Japanese art form of Origami is because I think it’s stylish and timeless, in the same time it’s modern. The best part about it I think is how the different angles creates different hues on the surfaces from each new angle you look at it, and it changes throughout the day depending on how the light shines on it, as you can see in below illustrations.

I’m going to go ahead and 3D print this piece and then make a mold in silicone so that I can start casting some concrete flower pots.

Hope you are doing well! Soon it’s the weekend so good times ahead :)

You can also market this to Jewish people for the star design from the top. Very nice. Would it need holes on the bottom to aerate?

Once again good comment. Yep it definitely should have a hole in the bottom, I definitely need to add that. Thanks for pointing it out !

It's very impressive and a beautiful art work ❤️
