Yesterday, me and my 3 nephews had a very good time doing this craft using an egg tray. We did a different craft. The egg tray that we've used belongs to the garbage and luckily we saved it from being burned.

There are some parts that has damage and got some molds. We just cut and select the good ones and do whatever we can to have this one.

Here are the things that I used in this project:

1 whole egg tray
Acrylic Paint (Yellow and Green)
Water Color
Glue Stick

Glue Gun
Scissor
Small Paint Brush
Cutter

Here's what to do:

1.Cut and follow the shape of each whole using a cutter. Flip it over so you can safely cut the tray then flip it again to cut the upper part.

2.Once done cut it in the middle for each part. It is divided into 4 parts and the tray has a marking also so it is a clue where to cut it using scissor.

3.This is how it looks like after you cut it. Trim the excess parts to look like a petal. Repeat the process for each sides.

4.For the leaf cut the tray on four parts and trim the edges like a leaf and set aside.

5.Prepare your paint materials: I used an acrylic paint color yellow and put some water for the first coating.

Remember that it is made out of hard kind of paper so it will surely absorb more liquid that's why I decided to apply the first paint as the primer.

6.Once it dries, apply the second coating of the paint. For the leaves, just do the same method for the first coating. I adjust the hue of my first green color 'cause it look so dark.

I add some yellow and mix it with my green color. It creates a vibrant hue that I wanted to achieve for a leaf color.

7.Allow them to completely dry before you proceed to assembling it. Prepare glue stick and glue gun.

8.Turn on the glue gun and wait until it reaches the right temperature to use it. Get two to three flowers and stick all together on a separate angle. It has to look like a flower though so be careful.

9.Much better to put glue on the center part of the flower then the get two pieces of leaves and put under the flower on different angle so it will be visible.

I made 20 pieces of flowers was good for 10 set of flowers and 2 leaves for each flowers for a total of 20 pieces of leaves too.

Additional Tip:

You can do it simple as the plain color or just put some glitters into it. I decided to play with the water colors and tried to paint it. I used reddish pink color and add some black texture in the middle. I'd like to create a more realistic design but these are the only available color that we have.

Finally it is done! This is the finish craft that I have. I am glad that I am able create and recycle this materials that belongs to trash already. I will be back again and share with you where will I'm gonna be putting it this week.
