gm frens!
Today I'm happy to announce I've joined the ranks of the *2 Years on the HIVE blockchain badge owners.
It's only my second one, but boy does it feel great!
A brief back story
It was 2019 and I'd been running my recording studio for two years when a client, a band called Jog Shuttle, asked me if I'd ever heard of Musicoin.
It's a decentralized music streaming platform that uses blockchain technology to reward musicians. Have you heard of blockchain?
My answer was something along the lines of...
So I did what any sensible human would do...
As fate would have it, I then met @ijatz , a wonderful human being with a kind heart, who, without knowing me, was kind enough to meet me for coffee and explain blockchain technology to this poor soul. I understood a very small amount of what he explained to me, but enough to give it a try.
This is when I learned one of the most important lessons of web 3: the power of community.
As I was welcomed into the Musicoin family, I started meeting other awesome blockchain heads like @djlethalskillz and @lorenzopistolesi. Two incredible, hard-working musicians, creators and entrepreneurs who are buidling a new world on web3. All three were on a blockchain blogging platform called Schleem, or Spleen or something like that; doesn't matter.
I figured out how to open an account, so I figured I'd create an account for my recording studio, @recording-box
My very first post on Sleeve (I apologize, the name escapes me) was and original called See Through me, performed by my friend Jon Fritz and recorded by me.
This was the beginning of my Live from the Studio sessions.

The post earned me a whopping... 0 Schleem tokens 😄 and half a pitty vote.
But I was determined to learn what the hell this blockchain tech was, so I kept at it.
Alien invasion resistant community
yessir. I was there.
One day, they announced that the blogging platform I registered to was receiving investment from crypto millionaire Justin Sun, the founder of Tron blockchain. I thought well this is promising! We're getting funding from someone who believes in this project; funding for growth!.
I tuned into Ned Scott and Justin Sun's AMA's where they both - sort of - answered what their plans were for the blockchain. Little did I know a hostile takeover was under way.
The princess was locked in her chambers...
The lords who swore fielty to Rhaenyra Targaryen were escorted to the Great Hall in the Red Keep
The small council was assembled..
and the King's guard...
Wait a minute, that's not right.
Sorry! I'm watching House of The Dragon on HBO and got a bit sidetracked.
Justin Sun seized control of a large amount of Schleem tokens plus a bunch tokens on Exchanges to vote his own witness nodes into the top 20 and take over the blockchain.
Only... the community wouldn't have that.
The community members fought back. The forked into a different chain and turned the premine into the DHF. giving birth to a truly exceptional and decentralized blockchain platform and they called it

It was sort of like being in the middle of a divorce between your parents.
But little by little, as I very slowly grasped tiny doses of blockchain technology, I understood that what was happening was truly unique and I left the legacy chain for ever.
HIVE was much more than a place to host my recording studio creations.
And on October 10th 2020, I created my own account.
The next five years
Leaving Schleem was only the beginning. HIVE has gone through many improvements since the alien invasion. Each hard fork introducing features that add stability, decentralization and use cases for the chain. Developers are making front-ends and dapps that range from video games to cross chain bridges and DEXs. and I'm committed to staying here for it all.
So thank you frens for making this a super fun experience! I'm here for the long-term. Hope to see you all there in 2026. Maybe we can do as the great @khaleelkazi said and get color coordinated lambos for @hivefest 11

You'll definitely see me there. Lambo or not.
