Hello my dear friends! This is our next short overview of the life of our animals and birds. I should probably do it on a certain day of the week ... But our life is very uneven. One week can be filled with different events, and the other - only routine.
Today I have been insulating the squirrel enclosure. Our squirrels are fosterlings and cannot be returned to the wild. Despite this, we try to create conditions for them that are as close to natural as possible. I have watched them stock up on food many times (even though they get it regularly). But instinct is instinct. So that they can insulate their nest, I put straw and wool in the aviary (I collect it when combing the dogs). These are natural materials and are ideal for insulating squirrels' nests.
I also moved all the crows to the aviary. In the warm season, they live freely in the yard. But one must understand that these are birds that cannot fly. They jump well and can climb the highest branch. But if the snow is deep there is one problem - sometimes they cannot get out of it and may die. In the aviary, I can watch them and quickly come to the rescue if necessary.
The legless stork Musa will spend the winter in a winter room for birds. Ice completely deprives her of the opportunity to be in the yard. In addition, she can chill her joints, which will be a disaster for her and for us.
When Muse was a baby bird, she broke both legs. But the people who found it tried to treat it on their own instead of taking the bird to the vet. You see the result.☹
Dogs are clearly bored at home. Despite the fact that they always have the opportunity to play in the yard, they are not going to do it. They found the best entertainment for themselves: why not eat the couch?
Cat Katya usually rarely comes into the house. She is too freedom-loving and independent. But in cold weather, she is not averse to soak up the warm room, using the dogs as a heating pad.
The rest of the storks went for a walk despite the bad weather. Despite the fact that they usually fly away to winter in Africa, they are not afraid of cold weather. The main thing is that the bird is well fed, healthy and has both wings (if the bird is single-winged, I take it to a warm room).
Wild pigeons are our regular guests during the cold season. It is very interesting to watch them. Usually one or two pigeons sit and wait. These are scouts. As soon as I get the grain, they'll call the whole flock for lunch.
Another misfortune has come to us today. Sometimes I start to think that local animals and birds just know my address ... Well, there is nothing to do, we will treat and feed it.
While adult squirrels are engaged in warming the nest, young squirrels are studying computer. Do not be surprised if you suddenly stumble upon the blog of this "beyond his age clever" creature ! 😁
