Happy Friday Dear Friends!

Today I would like to share an experience that was very new to me, although I am in my late fifties. The reason why it is because in the past, at least since I moved to Canada I always had one artificial tree for eighteen years that I was quite happy with. It was actually quite beautiful, because I lovely collection of ornaments. Every year I bought few new and I though I will pass them on to my daughter. Sadly, all is gone now, because it got lost in the process of moving.

Back in Slovakia, it was my grandfather who used to went to cut the tree. After I got married it was my ex husband who just bough it on the market.

As a vegan I have a mix feelings about cutting a trees, however artificial trees are not the best for the environment neither. Nevertheless, this year was more about the experience then about the tree! But do not get me wrong, the tree is beautiful and my daughter did a wonderful job decorating it. She is the one who is collecting the family ornaments now!

The weather last few weeks is up and down here in Toronto area and there wasn't any snow left. However, that day of our trip started snowing in the morning. By the the time we got there in the afternoon, sun came out and the scenery was absolutely breathtaking.

Honestly, to me, this is what Christmas is about! Spending day like this with a family. Even grandma from Chile is here. My son's in law mom. She loves to be here now, because they don't have snow there and besides, there are having summertime πŸ’–πŸŽ„πŸ’–

It took a while to find the right tree! It had to be not too big not too small, not too wide, but no less than 7 feet. Well my daughter was the boss, lol. Finally we found couple to chose from and here is the beauty with our two munchkins under it and dad's big saw, lol.

It one swoop with that saw and tree was down.

The sun was setting down and I had to take few more photos on the way back. It was absolutely divine. Eventough I prefer summer, they are days during the winter that are truly magical and this one was definitely one of them.
