Dance Monkey - Tones and I (Cover) [SPA/ENG]

Este fin de semana tuve dos presentaciones con el coro de la Iglesia, una el sábado y otra el domingo. Adicional tenía que cumplir con reuniones, responsabilidades y asignaciones, eso me dejo cansado y sin energía desde el punto de vista físico. El reto más grande era lograr que el coro estuviera completo en el momento de los ensayos. Debido a las distancias que existen entre los miembros del coro y el lugar de reunión, fue difícil que estuvieran todos. Gracias al trabajo de los jefes de cuerda pudimos lograr que practicaran en casa y en grupos la voz que le correspondía. Con la ayuda de un teclado grabé las voces de los bajos, tenores, contraltos y soprano y las compartí por WhatsApp. Tuvimos ensayos breves antes del comienzo de cada presentación, para realizar calistenia de la voz, afinar detalles y dar indicaciones finales. El desafío más relevante fue un ataque de nervios antes y durante la presentación. Como director trate de ayudarlos a concentrarse en la partitura, a relajarse con buen humor, y mostrar un rostro de serenidad y confianza.

This weekend I had two performances with the church choir, one on Saturday and one on Sunday. In addition, I had to meet meetings, responsibilities, and assignments, which left me tired and without energy from a physical point of view. The biggest challenge was getting the choir to be complete at rehearsal time. Due to the distance between the members of the choir and the meeting place, it was difficult for everyone to be there. Thanks to the string leaders' work, we got them to practice the voice that corresponded to them at home and in groups. With the help of a keyboard, I recorded the representatives of the basses, tenors, alto, and soprano and shared them on WhatsApp. We had short rehearsals before the beginning of each presentation, to perform voice calisthenics, refine details and give final instructions. The most relevant challenge was a nervous breakdown before and during the presentation. As a conductor, try to help them focus on the score, relax in a good mood, and show a calm and confident face.

Me siento satisfecho con el trabajo que realizaron cada uno de los integrantes del coro, puede que no haya sido perfecto. Pero, es un logro significativo. No teníamos coro desde antes del comienzo de la pandemia del COVID-19 y escuchar el coro nuevamente en nuestras reuniones marco la diferencia. Hubo muchas palabras de elogio, y de felicitaciones. Se sintió un bonito espíritu de unidad, de amor y entusiasmo. Me hubiera gustado grabar sus interpretaciones; sin embargo, eso requería una logística más amplia.

I feel satisfied with the work done by each of the members of the choir, it may not have been perfect. But, it is a significant achievement. We had not had a choir since before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic and hearing the choir again at our meetings made all the difference. There were many words of praise and congratulations. A beautiful spirit of unity, love, and enthusiasm was felt. I would have liked to record their performances; however, that required more extensive logistics.

Algunas palabras causaban sensaciones de frustración y eso motivo a la artista a escribirlo.

I share my interpretation with the trumpet of Dance Monkey by the Australian singer Toni Watson or Tones and I. The song is within the Dance Pop genre and was inspired by the beginnings of the singer, and by what the public said to the artist. Some words caused feelings of frustration and that motivated the artist to write them.
