I AM MODELING A BEAR 🐻
Hello dear friends,
I have a new job! A bronze sculpture of a bear 😃
I've never modeled a bear before and I'm happy to have a new challenge, especially because the bear has a difficult anatomy in different parts of the body, and if I don't do it right it will look like a sack.... so I have to work hardly 😅
To make a bronze you have to have the sculpture in wax, and to have it in wax first it will be in plaster.... but instead of creating the sculpture directly in plaster it is easier to model it first in clay.
This is the most common way to proceed!
First we need a metal frame that is fixed on two woods glued together with the grain direction positioned in differently ways (so that the wood cannot warp)

Non ho mai modellato un orso e sono contenta di avere una nuova sfida, soprattutto perché l' orso ha un' anatomia poco visibile in diverse parti del corpo, e se non lo faró bene assomiglerá ad un sacco.... perció mi devo impegnare il doppio 😅
Per fare un bronzo bisogna avere la scultura in cera, e per averla in cera prima meglio farla in gesso.... ma invece di creare direttamente la scultura in gesso é piú facile modellarla prima in argilla.
Questo é il modo piú comune di procedere!
Come prima cosa ci serve una struttura di metallo che viene fissata su due legni incollati insieme con direzione di venatura posizionata in modo diverso (cosicché il legno non possa deformarsi)
Then we twist some wire and can add a few little ieces of wood to support the clay.
Poi attorcigliamo del filo e possiamo aggiungere qualche legnetto per sostenere l' argilla.
And slowly it takes shape 😁
E pian piano prenede forma 😁
