For me there is nothing more wonderful than this king star, since the sun provides us with energy is very essential and its light gives us life.
For this initiative I decided to make a mirror representing the sun, for which I used skewer sticks.

Para mí no hay nada más maravilloso que este astro rey, ya que el sol nos provee energía es muy esencial y su luz nos da vida.
Para esta iniciativa decidí realizar un espejo que represente el sol, para el cual utilice palitos de brocheta.

Materials.

• Mirror (20 cm in circumference)
• 32 skewer sticks of 30 cm.
• 32 skewer sticks of 15 cm.
• 60 cm of golden sequins.
• Acrylic gold paint.
• Brush
• Recycling cardboard (20 cm in circumference).
• Recycling cardboard (14.5 cm in circumference).
• Liquid silicone.
• Golden thread 50 cm.
• Scissors.
• Ruler.
• Pencil.
• Pliers.
• Black acrylic paint.

Step by step.

Paso a paso.

• The first thing I did was to take the cardboard that will be the base and measure how many centimeters deep I will place the skewers, and count how many skewers I would need.
• I decided to place some at one centimeter deep and others at two centimeters, I traced them on the cardboard, as shown in the photo.

• Lo primero que hice fue tomar el cartón que sera la base y medir a cuántos centímetros colocare los palitos de brochetas, y sacar la cuenta de cuántos palitos necesitaria.
• Decidí colocar unos a un centímetro de profundidad y otros a dos centímetros, los trace en el cartón, como muestro en la foto.

• Then I decided the length of the sticks, some of them will be 30 cm long, which is the length of the sticks, I will need 32 of them and others of 15 cm, I will also need 32,
• I take 16 sticks of 30 cm long I start to measure them with the ruler and mark them at 15 cm with the pencil, and then cut them with the help of the pliers, and in this way I have my 32 sticks of 15 cm.

• Luego decidí el largo de los palitos unos serán de 30 cm que es lo que miden los palitos, de estos voy a necesitar 32 y otros de 15 cm necesitaría también 32,
• Tomo 16 palitos de 30 cm de largo los empiezo a medir con la regla y los marco a los 15 cm con el lapicero, para después cortarlos con la ayuda del alicate, y de esta forma tengo mis 32 palitos de 15 cm.

• After I have all the skewer sticks ready, I paint them with the gold acrylic paint.

• Luego que ya tengo listo todos los palitos de brochetas paso a pintarlos con la pintura acrílica dorada.

• I take the brush and I apply the golden paint one by one, I place them in a container to dry.
• After they are dry, I put them in a glass in order, in one I put the longest ones, in another one the ones of 15 cm that have a thin tip and in the other glass the ones of 15 cm that were left without tip because they are the ones at the bottom of the skewer sticks that I use them because you know that we can not waste anything.

• Tomo el pincel y le voy aplicando la pintura dorada uno a uno, los coloco en un envase para que se vayan secando.
• Luego que están secos los coloco en unos vaso ordenandolos en uno pongo los más largos, en otro los de 15 cm que tienen la punta fina y en el otro vaso los de 15 cm que quedaron sin punta por qué son los de la parte de abajo de los palitos de brochetas que los utilice por qué ustedes saben que no podemos desperdiciar nada.

• Then we take the cardboard which will make the base where we are going to glue the skewers.
• We start gluing with silicone the 30 cm sticks, first we make a cross placing one at each end.
• Then we continue gluing in the quarters and so we continue gluing in this way as shown in the photo, until we have glued the 32 sticks.

• Luego tomamos el cartón el cual va hacer la base donde vamos a pegar los palitos de brochetas.
• Empezamos a pegar con silicón los palitos de 30 cm, primero hacemos como una cruz colocando uno en cada extremo.
• Luego seguimos pegando en los cuartos y así seguimos pegando de esta forma como.murstro en la foto, hasta haber pegado los 32 palitos.

• Just at this moment I realize that I had not placed the thread with which we are going to hang our mirror, so I wait for the sticks to dry.
• Then I measure 50 cm of thread and place it double.
• Then I make two holes in the cardboard through which I insert it and knot it.

• Justo en este momento me doy cuenta que no había colocado el hilo con el que vamos a guindar nuestro espejo, así que espero que sequen los palitos.
• Luego mido 50 cm de hilo lo coloco doble.
• Luego en el cartón hago dos agujeros por dónde lo introduzco y anudó.

We continue gluing the skewer sticks.

Seguimos pegando los palitos de brochetas.

• Now we are going to glue the 15 cm sticks that have a tip.
• We place the silicone and glue leaving a free space until we have glued the 16 pointed sticks.

• Ahora vamos a pegar los palitos de 15 cm que tienen punta.
• Colocamos el silicón y vamos pegando dejando un espacio libre hasta haber pegado los 16 palitos con punta.

• In the spaces left free we place the silicone and glue the rest of the 15 cm sticks that do not have a tip until we have glued them all.

• En los espacios que dejamos libre colocamos el silicón y pegamos el resto de los palitos de 15 cm que no tienen punta hasta haberlos pegado todos.

• To give more support to the mirror we take a 14.5 cm cardboard and put silicone on it.

• Para darle mayor soporte a el espejo tomamos un cartón de 14,5 cm le colocamos silicón.

• And we glue it right in the center, we make pressure so that it sticks well.

• Y lo pegamos justo en el centro, le hacemos presión para que pegue bien.

• Now we take the mirror and put a generous amount of silicone on it.
• We glue right on top of the cardboard that we had put as a base and on top of the sticks.

• Ahora tomamos el espejo le colocamos una cantidad abundante de silicón.
• Pegamos justo encima del cartón que habíamos puesto de base y encima de los palitos.

• With the help of a cloth we make pressure so that it sticks well.
• Then place a cloth on top of the mirror and place something heavy, I put a container with water and let it dry for two hours.
• Then I remove the container and clean the mirror.

• Con la ayuda de un paño hacemos presión para que pegue bien.
• Luego colocamos un paño encima del espejo y colocamos algo pesado, yo le puse un envase con agua y lo deje secar por dos horas.
• Luego retiro el envase

• I take the sequins and the silicone and glue them delicately all around the edge of the mirror.

• Tomo las lentejuelas y el silicón y voy pegando de forma muy delicada por todo el borde del espejo.

• To give a beautiful finish to the back I paint with black acrylic paint.

• Para darle un hermoso acabado a la parte de atrás pinto con pintura acrílica negra.

This is the finished sun mirror, we can hang it in any space without any doubt it will give us a touch of elegance and distinction.

Así queda el espejo sol terminado, lo podemos colgar en cualquier espacio sin duda alguna nos dará un toque de elegancia y distinción.
