Hello everyone, we are still in the month of love, is the time of the year when we appreciate the amazing people in our lives by giving gifts of all kinds.
With the spirit of love, I decided to create something unique to participate in the @DIYlove contest.
The reason behind this creation, I love gifts that are accompanied by gift boxes cause they create a different uniqueness when unboxing, i like the feeling of how the whole process of unboxing a gift keeps you in suspense till you get to see what is inside the box then you relief yourself of that suspense and embrace the gift itself.
Materials used
Hard carton
Thin cardboard
Fabric
Yarn
Crochet needle
Scissors
Pencil
Top bond
Sewing needle
Firstly I made use of my pencil to draw out the symbol of love on the thin cardboard and then used my scissors to carve it out, after then I placed the love I'd carved out on the hard carton and used my pencil to scarce it so I can be able to carve it out easily, I was scared it wouldn't come out well cause I'm not good at carving but glad it did come out well.
I decided to make use of the red fabric cause red symbolizes love, and the color itself is special and appealing to the eyes, so I placed the love symbol I've carved on the fabric then I used my gum on the edges of hard carton then I cut small pieces on my fabric, so the fabric would come out neat when gummed on the hard carton.
Then cut the hard carton to cover the edges of my gift box, and then I placed my fabric on it to the gum around the hard carton I'd cut out then I was done with the whole cutting process and it was time to join the edges to make look exactly like a box. Then I tried using the gum to join the does of the box but it wasn't giving what I wanted so I had to improvise by using a sewing needle and thread to join the edges, then it gave what I wanted.
In the crocheting process, I made a chain of seven then I inserted my hook inside the second chain and made a double crochet, I repeated the same process till the whole chain was covered with double crochets to get the "I" alphabet. Then proceed to the next alphabet "u" Make a chain of fifteen and double crochet inside the chains till it gets to the middle chain then make three double crochet insert your hook inside two chains and double crochet then insert your hook inside the third chain and three double crochet and double crochet inside the rest of the chains.
The last step is to make the flowers, make a chain of fifteen and single crochet in each of the chains, then make one double crochet, two chains, and double crochet inside the first stitch then skip the next three stitches and insert your hook in the fourth and repeat the same process till you're done with the stitches. Then tie your yarn and cut it out.
Here is the outcome of my project!!!!
Special to my friend @abenad for inviting me to participate in this contest.
