Hello everyone here!!! It's that time of the year when women are celebrated, women are really special and our specialty started from the first day of creation.
So being a part of this amazing gender I made a gift card to celebrate International Women's Day where women are celebrated for their achievements, not just that and for being great mothers. Here is my entry to be a part of the contest.
Materials used
Hard cardboard
Thin cardboard
Scissors
Swan glue
Pen
Razer blade
Lace Fabric
Step one: Cut the hard cardboard to the desired size and length of the gift card you want, then fold it into two and open it. Draw a circle using your pencil, I ain't good at drawing so I used something that has the shape of a circle to get a better circle.
After drawing my circle I carved it out using my razer blade. I did the same thing on the thin cardboard to get my circle.
Step two: With the desire to give my circle a beautiful look, I had to do something out of the box, so I used my pencil to draw a flower-looking something (well it was giving me this flower look but then after carving it was giving me another look) then I used my scissors to carve it out, I did the same thing for the thin cardboard and used my swan glue to gum the two together.
Then I cut some of the hard cardboard, folded the edges used my swan glue to gum it at the middle of the gift card to enable the gift card to open and close easily.
Step Three: the flower looking something I'd carved out I put my swan glue on it and gummed it in the middle of the gift card.
So I decided to add a note to the gift card to achieve that I had to craft a space of an envelope that could hold a little note card and to make it fancy I carved my flower looks alike on the opening and guess what this time, it was looking like I expected it to "positively". After that challenged myself to make a butterfly, firstly I drew the shape of a butterfly on my hard cardboard and used my scissors to carve it out, I did four for the hard cardboard and two for the thin cardboard making it six in total.
Step Four Cut out the beautiful design on the lace fabric, using swan glue to gum it around the circle I'd carved out earlier. I did it for the outer part and inner parts, then I used my red pen to write out what we were celebrating, and as we all know it's the "women".
Then I carved out another piece to make a note for the women, looking back and realizing the great achievements women have accomplished, the different areas they've dominated, and lastly for being amazing mothers to their children.
This is the finished result when it's open now when it's closed and about to reveal what's in it.
