Have you ever heard of paper tarps?
In this post, I will show you how I made the birthday tarpaulin for my daughter with lots of help online and from Windows software.
I have not heard of this until last year from my colleagues. Every birthday, they celebrate it and there really is a team that makes the tarp, while some prepare the food.
Out of curiosity, I watched video tutorials on Youtube and copied how they made it.
Here's how I made my daughter's birthday tarpapel (paper tarp) for her birthday.
I used canva for lay outing since they have great span of templates that is free to use. I don't use it much so my knowledge is limited, but what's lovely about exploring things is that we learn about it along the way.
Anyway, it's not the first time I made a tarp papel, last year, I made a tarp for my niece and my son. Aelie was a bit jealous about it and I promised her that I would make one for her and here I am making that promise real.
I even forgot how I added the names on the previous projects that's why I needed help online and I am glad I found a lettering generator. It's easy to use since it's online, One only needs to input the work he wants to be designed on where the " lettering" word is and it will automatically do its job. The toll below is where one can customize the font and size of the letters they wanted.
The letterings I downloaded were too small from the page so I needed another help. This time, I used Paint from Microsoft. To make the lettering bigger, I cropped the letterings and removed the background then added to the canva template I was doing.
And for the photo that I used, I just dug up my gallery for my daughter's photo and needed the help of remove background. One needs to upload a photo by browsing files or dragging the photo and the site will automatically process the image removing the background. I downloaded it and added to the template, I made some adjustment on the sizes and layering. Also, I added the love you clips around.
Thsi is how the remove background look like on its home page

And for the final stage of completion, I used Windows Publisher to print the tarp on several pages of paper. Honestly, I really have no time to measure how big the templates on the Windows publisher were so I just randomly picked one and printed it. Oh, I even had trouble printing so I asked for Paula's hand for help. Her printer is better, mine only does well with black and white.
I was in a rush while making this tarp on the day of my daughter's birthday and the screen shots I took were taken while making this post.
The final touches were done at home, I cut the edges of the paper(unprinted side) and glued them together, and pasted them on the wall. @eylii had no idea what we did but was made happy upon seeing what we did for her birthday.
Celebration was not complete without dinner, coke, and cake but I got so busy and my husband's phone was used to document our simple celebration and I hope he can post it about it soon.
This tutorial/post can be used for some occasions too, Paula even used it for his brother's graduation celebration.
