Good day, everyone! It's been raining for most of today, so the weather is cool and calm. Today I'll love to take you through the process of how I made these new Birkenstock palm slippers a few weeks ago. It's a simple but classic design drew by my client, and after getting his idea, I was able to present this to him, which he said met his preference perfectly.
Although the client wasn't that good with drawing, after taking a look at what I drew and his description, I was able to get the message that he needed something much closer or similar to this, and that led me into the market to purchase all the items I'll be needing for the making, so without further ado, let's look into how I made the palm slippers.
TOOLS AND MATERIALS
- Brown leather
- Birkenstock insole
- Mako outsole
- Oci gum
- Biro
- Scissors
- Filling machine
MAKING PROCESSES
- To make this palm slippers, i had to first pick up the leather materials, drew the perfect shape and size i want on it wigh a biro, then i cut it out with the scissors.
- When that was achieved, i cut another tiny piece, which I placed between the initial once, added some oci gum and wrapped it together to make it much firm and neat.
- When that was done for all required for the upper design, i pick up the Birkenstock insole and filled it back with the filing machine, i did same to the maco outsoles too, aftee which i applied gum to it and last the upper design together with them.
- After all is said and done, here is the final outcome and look of the Birkenstock palm slippers, which the customer said meets his demand as regarding his earlier description.
