Happy day to all the members of this lovely community that is @diyhub. How have you been? I have seen several Christmas-related works, beautiful crafts that I have been excited to replicate, but I haven't had time to do them because this week I was finishing the activities with my children from the home school.

When the pandemic started and therefore the quarantine, my mom and I spent our time locked in the house, bored and with nothing to do. We needed an activity that would motivate us and help us have some extra income, so the idea of starting a home school at our home arose. It has been 3 years where we have been improving and in which we have helped and cared for many children. In addition to that, mothers have trusted us to help their children with projects, exhibitions, and a few days ago, a new challenge was presented to us, one of our children was going to present his project closure which was about "The animals" and he had been assigned to be the tiger.

I have prepared presentations on posters, models, drawings of historical characters and important places, I have recorded the children reading and doing their activities as evidence for the teachers 🤣, but I had never done anything like this. Despite that, I like challenges, and along with my sister, I got down to work.

The materials we used were:

MATERIALS
  • Yellow foam (approximately a sheet of 1 meter)

  • Black foam, letter size (Din A4)

  • Brown foam with glitter, letter size (to make it more eye-catching) (Din A4)

  • Liquid silicone

  • Scissors

  • Black marker

To be able to make this big tiger, first I prepared one that I used as a template to cut out the large shape in the yellow foam. Then, marking on the black and brown foams, I began to cut out the details that are part of my tiger.

In the back, I tried to attach the tail to the body so that when the child put on the apron, it wouldn't fall off and my tiger wouldn't look sad. I did the same with the word "tiger" but at the bottom. I also put some strips so that the apron could be hung on the shoulders comfortably.

In addition, I made a headband with the tiger's face, a miniature version of the tiger that he had on his apron 🤭.

And this is how it looked, not because I did it, but personally, it is the most eye-catching apron among all the children. I am glad that my work was pleasing to the child, and I believe that for my first time doing one of these, it turned out very well.

So cute! The tiger and its owner, I could have swore you bought it at a store, but you made the tigre yourself, amazing, and it looks so neatly done and cute. Well done.

What a beautiful job you did for your baby. Nothing like doing things for ourselves. Thanks for giving us the gift of your creative process

Thanks to you for appreciating my work, and you're right, there's nothing like the satisfaction of making something yourself and make it look as you imagined it 🥰
