Gnomes painting
I recently showed the work in progress of the gnomes painting I was making as well as the one my daughter was creating at the same time. In case you missed it, click here to go to the post to see the full progress. I finished the painting somewhere last week after working on it a few more times and letting the layers dry whenever I made a mistake or wanted to change something, like the grey beards which I changed later. I made a GIF to see the follow up progress after the WIP post:
The difference in colors is simply because I worked on it during the day as well as night and the light in our home in the evenings is not ideal to capture any artistic work. I regret not waiting until the next morning but it is what it is.
I used a Canvas, brushes and acrylic paint from Crealando, the brand from LIDL. These are affordable and both my daughter and me can use it for our creative outbursts. I need a lot more practicing before I'd consider buying more expensive paint. But I love the creative time with my daughter when we feel like painting. She needs some encouragement most of the times to get started but once she's on it, she's on fire.
That reminds me, remember that I mentioned she was fed up with her painting and not happy? I showed her the next day we can cover the gnomes she didn't like and create a tree and a pile of gifts instead. In the GIF below you can see how I did that and how she ended up filling up the colors. Unfortunately, she didn't feel like finishing it up completely but that's ok.
She really wanted to have my painting so I gave it to her, it's hanging above her play kitchen now and she mentions daily how she loves it. A kid's heart can be pleased easily.
While finishing this post, it's time to start our next creative journey as yesterday a full box of creative supplies arrived, including metallic paint and new markers. Let's see if we can find something to paint today.
Thanks for stopping by!
