Today I am pleased to present you a drawing I made and it will be my entry to the kitty DIY contest that is still going on, accepting the invitation of my dearest @dayadam who let me know the proposal along with other special little people 😸❤️✨

Needless to add that I love kitties along with rodents, but unfortunately they don't live together, so since I have a guinea pig I can't have feline minis. However, that doesn't mean I don't adore every cutie that crosses my path, it's impossible not to love them. Besides that @dayadam has a cat that I can share with when I visit her (when she doesn't growl at me and take the chair I'm sitting in hahaha, don't believe it, Shira is a sweetheart).

And well, as you already know a little of my kitten history (or at least what I remember at this moment), I would like to talk a little bit about my drawing.

I begin by saying that it was a drawing which I had to repeat twice because I didn't like the first one I was doing, especially because it's my first time drawing kittens, besides I wanted to present something nice.

This one came out because I decided to let myself go, to be inspired by what I liked the most and the techniques I know, using the tones I handle best. Therefore, its physical appearance is totally fictitious.

At the same time, I was inspired by her wardrobe of an animated character that appears in a music video called Thunderous, representing a K-pop singer I like called Hyunjin, who belongs to the band Stray Kids, in case you're curious.

Of course, I didn't do it as is, I added some things to it, but that's the idea.

Knowing all this, I'll proceed to show you my creative process.

This creative process will be divided into four simple and detailed steps, I hope you understand my explanation.

The first thing I did was a sketch of the drawing inspired by many pictures I was seeing on the internet.

I wanted to add glasses to my kitten to give it more personality. Note that I made those circles by hand, which although it is not the best technique, I think they looked pretty good.

I continued by outlining some of the parts I wanted to accentuate with a thin black marker. I admit that I love to make lines in my drawings, that's why her hat is full of them.

Consecutively, I started painting my cat's eyes with Kores colors, trying to make them look super adorable and seductive, to get your attention ❤️

I continued giving depth to the eyes with ocher colors, to move on to form the nose. During its elaboration I used light pinks, trying to create depth and a semi-realistic touch.

At the same time, I was outlining the first lines that would form the first capable of the kitten's spots with yellows, ochers, oranges and browns.

For this I tried to draw hair by hair with colors that had a fine tip (it is necessary to take out the tip), trying to follow a shape as if it were real hair.

I wanted to leave the muzzle white because I loved how cute it looked this way.

Once I knew where my feline was going to have the spots, I proceeded to accentuate them slowly, layer by layer so that the relief would be noticeable.

At the same time I was highlighting some parts with a thin black marker for more depth. I also used purple to recreate the shadows of the fur, they look much better this way than with black. I took advantage of this to finish his glasses and ears.

In the same way, little by little I improved the muzzle (you are already noticing that I am quite messy when painting, I jump from one side to the other).

Here is my biggest fear, painting clothes. I feel that I'm a bit bad at giving realism to clothes, but this time it was acceptable, I liked it.

The first thing I painted was the necklace, and little by little I added shadows.

Once I considered that it was looking good (but not finished) I continued with his outfit. Just like the animated character I told you about, I drew him white with red and in between I was able to demarcate where his "wrinkles" or folds were going to be to make it look realistic.

I thought it was funny to make him this kind of costume, in my opinion it looks very aesthetic hahaha.

Finally I finished the kitten, or well, almost, I was missing the last details and the background. I thought of making a simple background, so as not to overshadow its tenderness, so I outlined geometric lines around it that are almost invisible to elaborate something cubist.

After thinking about what color could be the background, I decided on apple green, shaded with olive green. This taking into account that these are colors that are in trend, especially when it is overlaid with reddish tones.

Once everything was decided, I shaded each part of the background, making sure that the tones were uniform.

At first I was not convinced, but little by little I was liking it.

This is the result of the background. A bit simple, but well thought out. It gives a very natural and artistic aura to the feline.

I really liked the final result of the whole drawing. I feel it was easy to do and fun, especially because I added elements that I liked and the idea was totally free.

I also added the word "Kitty" with a fine marker, my signature and some moustaches with white corrector.
