I found out a new skill today
Every time I try to get a labourer, I curse the government. The reason being, you barely now get people to work - the way they speak is like they are doing a mercy on you. I have been trying to get one person for a day only - even there was not much work for one day - it was not difficult as well. But it has been difficult to find someone and finally I took it in my hands. The working class is slowly vanishing, which is definitely a very bad indicator for the economy. The reason - the government provides everything free to them - and that too per member of the family. Each member of the family gets 15 kg rice at Rs 1/- , so a family of four would get 60 kg rice at 60/-. They sell 50 kg in the market in a little lesser than market price and they are not willing to work. Apart from the rice, they get wheat, kerosine etc as well. They sell everything else because they don't need them. And at whose cost - its at the taxpayers money. These people don't need much and they are happy with that low income and would barely work for few days in a month - that too only when they will need money. So they do mercy on us by coming to work. And forget about 8 hrs of work - they now barely work for 5-6 hours.
I wonder how can a nation prosper, when its people hesitate to work. Unfortunately some of these people even become addicted to the white poison - the drugs and do not hesitate to commit crime. Yesterday only, one such guy robbed a person in front of our house - snatched his mobile and 2000/- from a farmer. I wonder ,when the government will stop all these nonsense free schemes that will force people to work. A working person will definitely not do any evil. But hey, who cares. Everything runs here in the name of democracy - all schemes for the sake of vote politics.
Since I planned to come today from my native, we had to finish the work and I had given words to Mom, that it will be done. So I started the little repairing work that was needed to fill some cracks. Mom knew the formula, so she guided me and helped all the time.
Sand, cement, mix them well in a 1:1 proportion ( so that it is stronger), put water and mix them thoroughly. If it's a big hole, then give some stone as support and apply the cement on top of it. Need a bit of polishing, but at the end, we could get it done ourselves. Quite a different experience for me though but I was happy to learn something new.
Mom did put up some fire and created smoke - to prevent mosquitos. And she was the photographer. I had some plans for the plants, so after finishing this, I got back to my addiction. Replant a Chrysanthemum that I had brought recently. I am not sure, it will be fruitful or not, but no harm in trying to put it for better growth.
The weather has improved a bit, I hope we do not see any more rain. So nurtured all the plants a bit by mixing some vermicompost and seaweed mix. The ones, that I had planted earlier look all good - just waiting for them to smile with flowers.
Lot of work today - but it definitely feels better to accomplish something committed. Came to the city in the evening to move my plants in the roof top. And there is a silver jubilee meet for our Post-graduation batch tomorrow - it always feels good to meet old friends.
And by the way, I did not forget to get some apple berries - its always tempting and my wife is a big fan of them. I had put the picture on my whatsapp status and a close friend's wife requested to get some, so gave her a bit on my way as well.
