Hello lovely people of this community,i hope the week isn't stressful, though mine has been hectic,but am glad to be here and to share my work with you all.
Today i decided to seized the moment and to create something nice and useful for my kids.
A pencil cover
I felt it's something worth doing because am tired of trying to find out the last place they dropped their pencil and pen.
Sometimes i spent minutes looking for where they kept it.
I believe this will be a good storage for their writing materials.
Here are the materials i used
- A White carton
- A scissors
- A pencil and a pen
- A ruler
- Some coloured beads
- Glue
The first step i took was to get a white carton,
I drew a square design on it using a ruler
After that,i cut it out with a scissor.
The next step:
I used a ruler, placed on the carton i had trimmed,i took my preferred measurements.
I measured from the right side using 12cm
I repeated it the left side and i marked each point
Next step:
I folded the carton into two from the points i had marked and i did that to the right side also
Next step:
I took a yellow hard paper,i cut it into a smaller length for the case lock.
And i glued it on the carton.
Next step:
I took the pencil case and i drew a sunflower in front of it.
Firstly i started with a pencil sketch because my kids had gone to school with their easer and there was no eraser at home,i tried to be a bit careful to avoid erasing anything since there was no eraser.
I did the sketch and luckily it wasn't so bad and i decided to complete it using my pen.

I got a yellow paper,i made a little circle design, i cut it out and placed it on the flower
Next step
I then made and decorated the inside of the case
I started by cutting out two extra cartons
I used glue and i glued it on the sides
I then fixed it on the case.
I got some beads and i lined the center of the case and i also pasted a cat and a girl's image on each of the sides just to make it more colorful.
Next step
I took the coloured beads and a glued each of it on the pencil case sparingly.
I decided on different colors because i felt it may be nice.
